I grew up on Jiffy Pop on the stovetop, shaking it away, pulling open the foil and the great smell through the house, it was so much fun back then in the 70's. Then my brother Luke, became the guru so to speak on making popcorn on the stove with grandma's old saucepan and boy was it ever the best to eat, fresh popped, butter salt, buttery flavored oil, with age it became the best seasoned pan in the world to make popcorn in. Then somehow we got into the microwave age and the fast and furious was born.
While going out to shop, I noticed Orvilles jar corn to be quite a bit more expensive today than Jolly Time in the resealable bag. Orvilles was 4.99 for a one pound nice jar. Jolly Time was 4.49 and for a two pound bag, so who cares about the jar with that much more popcorn and a real money saver?
So, guess what, being the thrifty shopper and lover of my good ole faithful, Jolly Time came home with me. Now I can use my great new masons jars to put that popcorn in with double the popcorn

Coconut Grove, Whining and Great Dining Review and Coconut Custard Tarts

The photo above is my brother John Colenzo and I at the Village Of Merrick Park in Coconut Grove, Florida. John suggested this would be a treat to see all the fine cars and retailers here. John, besides being my brother, is a music entertainer in Fisher Island (not too far from here) and has some great friends in the area who you'll meet further down the article posted below.
Merrick Park has several Retailers here to see, to include and name a few are anchors Neiman Marcus and Nordstrom's. Quite some interesting finds here. If you are lucky enough to own a Lexus (my favorite car) it's free valet parking. The rest of the vehicles would have a fee. Some very impressive vehicles we saw were the Bentley, Ferrari and the least expensive, a Corvette (still very respectable)! A car buff and lovers dream place to visit here!

      There's always something at

Hold on to every precious moment. Dad is special, he is part of why your here. Love each day you have together and make beautiful memories to last a life time. I did.
Happy Father's Day RIP Dad, gone but never forgotten, in my heart always....
That photo was the beginning of a great relationship that lasted 38 years of my life. Dad, best friend, great listener, supporter and one who loved his family unconditionally... that was my Dad, Carmen Louis Colenzo. For me one of the greatest men on the planet. What made him so special? His unconditional love, patience, and he never judged anyone. He was there in anyone time of need and always there to help, ever strangers. At age 82, August 12th 1995, the angels came and took him from us. His spirit lives on in each of us children left behind, we all lost a great man that day in our family. Amazing how he never complained, his kindness and generosity was stellar. He lived life with a smile, loved his wife, Read More »from Father's Day Remembrance and Dad Favorite Foods

    • Curt's Grilled Black and Blue Burger Recipe

Another bragging post of course... A proud mom seeing her youngest son excel in the world of cooking adding many new ideas. Curt is one of those kids (oops men) that loves food. There are no boundaries when taking good quality ingredients and taking it to the next level.

He took over the grill with his determination to make mom not only proud but prove he had the better combination of flavors in making a mouth watering burger. I was not surprised to take one bite and fail my 8 months of dieting with no meat to succumb to eating the whole burger... Blue cheese, bacon crumbles and Angus Beef? Really too tempting to resist! My will power just went out the window! What a great way to celebrate my birthday and weight loss... I have no regrets! You only live once right? I am so happy to have two sons that love to cook.. Chad is more the dessert maker in the family and breakfast lover and Curt loves to create his own dishes based on what he
