The Bachelor's Chris Harrison has been tapped to host the 2012 Miss America Pageant, ABC and the Miss America Organization announced on Wednesday.

Megan McAllister and Philip Markoff are reexamined tonight in the "The Craigslist Killer" on Lifetime. The Philip Markoff story returns to television tonight as Amanda Knox continues to battle DNA evidence for her appeal. Knox's representatives were furious when Lifetime first broadcasted a special about Knox, and used the Craigslist Killer movie as a means to generate ratings. In the end, both specials began ratings blockbusters.

When the Craigslist Killer first aired, it drew lackluster reviews. But that didn't impact ratings. The special became the fifth highest watched original telefilm for Lifetime in the network's history. The film drew massive numbers among young adults as well. In the summer of 1921, while getting ready to enter the Junior Class of Western High School, Margaret Gorman's picture was one of approximately one thousand photos entered into a popularity contest held by the Washington Herald. Six remaining finalists were escorted around the city throughout the summer and Margaret Gorman was chosen as the first "Miss Washington, D. C." The prize for the winner was a trip to the Second Annual Atlantic City Pageant as an honored guest.

Margaret, along with other "Inter-City Beauties," arrived in Atlantic City and entered a new event: The "Inter-City Beauty" Contest. It was judged in stylish afternoon attire by the judges, but and the public alike, who shared in 50 percent of the final score. Undoubtedly personality played a large role in the voting as masses of people surrounded each entrant to get to know her better and throw questions at them throughout the event. Miss America 2011 Teresa Scanlan will present a program on eating disorders for youth during a benefit for CenterPointe on Monday at the Embassy Suites, 10th and P streets.

An estimated 24 million people suffer from eating disorders in the United States and 95 percent of them are between ages 12 and 25, CenterPointe Executive Director Topher Hansen said. Read More>>>

Now researchers at Tel Aviv University have found a way to make an old idea new with the next generation of superconductors.

Dr. Boaz Almog and Mishael Azoulay working in the group of Prof. Guy Deutscher at TAU's Raymond and Beverly Sackler School of Physics and Astronomy have developed superconducting wires using fibers made of single crystals of sapphire to be used in high powered cables. Factoring in temperature requirements, each tiny wire can carry approximately 40 times more electricity than a copper wire of the same size.
