I knew I couldn't tackle the task of making my house a home without my groom. Armed with Jason's male perspective and Mom's real-world experience (she tagged along for support), we filtered hundreds of products down to the chosen few. Here's what we learned, as told from our POVs.

One bride (and groom!) reveal what to know before you scan.

The Bride:

I was beyond giddy to register. When else in your life can you create the ultimate wish list without paying a dime? My scanning goals: Invest in items I'd be using the most frequently, like cookware; don't include items that guests might be reluctant to bring to a bridal shower, such as garbage cans or toilet plungers; and maintain a uniform sense of "style," which was challenging since we don't know which colors will match our new apartment.

Olivia Wilde and Jason SudeikisThe first of our celeb engagement predictions for 2013 just came true!

The Saturday Night Live comedian proposed to actress Olivia Wilde over the holidays, according to People.

The pair started dating in November of 2011, and Wilde has proclaimed to be "blissfully, hopelessly, wildly in love" with Sudeikis. Late last year, she sold her home in California to move in with Sudeikis in NYC. She told USA Today, "I've been decorating our new apartment…I'm so domestic. We have a cool new electronic drum kit. It's a good life."

The couple will also share the big screen later this year in Relanxious, their first film together.

The naturists got married on January 5 at the Wellington Naturist Club in New Zealand.

Some couples express themselves by writing their own wedding vows, choosing a meaningful first dance song, or planning a sweet anniversary surprise. But for Nick and Wendy Lowe, their wedding day was the ultimate form of self-expression when they chose to bare all and wed in the nude.

The naturists got married on January 5 at the Wellington Naturist Club in New Zealand. About 120 guests attended the ceremony; half wore clothing, while the other half went au naturel.

"The most impressive thing really was how the guests who were not naturists pretty much just mingled and got along with everybody and didn't give a damn," the groom told Hawke's Bay Today, a local newspaper. (In case you're curious: Yes, they mentioned that it was a clothing-optional event in their wedding invitation, so guests were forewarned!)

Lucas made headlines last October when he sold his empire, Lucasfilm, to Walt Disney Co. for over $4 billion, donating the profits to a charitable foundation that will focus on educational issues. "It was 40 years of work. It has been my life, but I am ready to move on to bigger and better things," he told E! News back in November.

As more than 50 million viewers tuned in, Nicole Angelillo and Gerald Sapienza, of Chesapeake, VA, became the first couple to get married at the Rose Parade atop "The Love Float" by Farmers Insurance.

The pair grew up in the same town, and Nicole harbored a secret crush on Gerald in high school - even though they didn't actually meet until ten years later on an online dating site. "From our first sentence to our first meeting and our first date, we knew it was meant to be. We can't wait to finally share the same name!" Nicole told Farmers.

Since Gerald proposed to Nicole on a Mardi Gras parade float, it was only natural to get married on a float as well. They entered a dream wedding contest sponsored by Farmers Insurance, where they won a chance to get married during the Rose Parade, a trip to Pasadena with up to six witnesses, wedding-day attire, wedding rings, two tickets to the 2013 Rose Bowl game, and more.
