    • Together 'Til the End: Couple Married 72 Years Dies One Hour Apart

Norma and Gordon Yeager were serious when they vowed, "Til death do we part," back in 1939, the day that Norma graduated from high school.

Last week, the couple was involved in a fatal car accident and rushed to the intensive care unit, but their conditions did not improve. Gordon and Norma were placed holding hands in the same room in the ICU, but they were not responsive.

At 3:38 P.M., Gordon passed away while still holding Norma's hand. After he stopped breathing, the family was baffled to still see activity on the heart monitor. The nurse explained that essentially, because they were holding hands, her heart was beating through him.

The couple loved each other so deeply that they never wanted to be apart. "Neither one of them would've wanted to be without each other. I couldn't figure out how it was going to work," said Donna Sheets, their oldest daughter. "We were very blessed, honestly, that they went this way." • Trend We Love: Crazy Socks for Grooms

Let's face it, sometimes the only parts of his outfit the groom gets to choose are his socks and his skivvies. No, we're not going to show you pictures of grooms in their skivvies (sorry). We want to show you the socks! We love when a groom shows off his personality through his footwear-and sometimes lets the groomsmen in on the fun, too.

      Some of our favorites:

    • Strange Wedding Trend: Planking?

The inexplicably popular planking phenomenon has reached the bridal world and, judging by the influx of wedding planking photos scattering the Internet, the trend is going strong.

In case you've been living under, um, a wooden plank, planking is a game consisting of laying facedown in an ironic or unusual place, such as on a chair or perhaps a train track in Grand Central Station (which we don't recommend!).

Now before you go speed-dialing your wedding photographer for possible planking locations, consider this: 20 years from now, how on earth are you going to explain to your kids why there is a photo of Mommy and Daddy laying facedown in a pile of leaves on their wedding day? (The answer is... you will never be able to explain that. Seriously).

But it's still fun to gawk at these photos. Our favorite is the couple planking on the pews- props on their creativity and excellent balancing skills.

"When you wish upon a star
Makes no difference who you are
      Anything your heart desires
      Will come to you."
There's a reason that tune is the theme song for all things Disney related, because it's true. The Orlando property, Walt Disney World and its four parks and variety of hotels, is just as much a fantasyland for adults as it is for children. It is, after all, the place where teacups swirl, carpets fly, pirates dance and Mickey smiles at everyone.

This magical flair and an impeccable attention to service has extended to the company's Fairytale Weddings and Honeymoons program, which just celebrated its 20th anniversary, as well as the Disney Cruise Line that recently welcomed a third ship to the fleet. I visited both a few weeks ago and found that for honeymooners dreams really do come true.

Every bride wants her bridesmaids to be happy. It's actually quite rare for a bride to want only her way, and not care about the bridesmaids' budgets or what they'd like to wear on the big day. Sure, you may see these train-wreck, ultra-selfish brides on talk shows, but the vast majority of brides would never want to over-obligate you, or make being a bridesmaid something to dread.

But in order for you to be happy, you need to let the bride know a few things as soon as possible. Here are the top five essential FYIs you need to share with your bride:

How much you can spend. A bride who's close to you (like a sister or a best friend) knows if you're on a limited budget due to your school loans or your crummy, low-paying job. She's already aware that she needs to keep your expenses on the moderate side, and she's looking for dresses that aren't going to cost you a fortune. But you need to give her a range of what you consider a reasonable budget for your tour of duty as a

    • 5 Ways to Wear Your Bridesmaid Dress Again

One of a bridesmaid's top goals is to choose a dress that she can wear again and again. But, as it turns out, 81.3% of bridesmaids only get one wear from their dresses! According to TheWeddingReport.com, 13.04% of bridesmaids get 2 to 5 wearings out of their dresses, 5.43% get 5 to 10 wears, while .22% gets more than 10.

If you're currently on the hunt for a bridesmaid dress, or if you already have one (or four), here are five ways to repurpose your gown and get some money-saving wear out of it:

      1. Cut it down. Floor-length bridesmaid gowns from formal weddings can take on a new look if you have an alterations professional cut your dress to a shorter length. And here's where it gets fun: Make the first cut to the knee for a cocktail dress that you'll wear again and again. When you're ready for another new look, alter it again to create a fun and flirty mini to pair with sexy stockings and boots or strappy heels.

      2. Stitch on straps. With help from a seamstress, add

    • 5 Things You Must Ask Your Partner (BEFORE Getting Married)

Photo Courtesy of Sweet Little Photographs

If you've been following our finance column with Farnoosh Torabi - expert and nationally acclaimed author (including The Newlywed's Guide to Taking Control of Your Wedding)-then you've already learned how to talk to your fiancé about the wedding budget without arguing and compromise on wedding expenses like your cake and dress.

In our final installment, we asked this money-savvy bride-to-be to teach us how to set up healthy finance habits for marriage.

Farnoosh recommends that you learn the following about your partner (if you haven't already):

      1. How much do you earn?
      2. How much savings do you have in both a rainy day account and retirement?
      3. What's your credit score?
      4. What debt do you have?

Important: If your husband-to-be has over $100,000 in student loans or other combined debt, you may want to consider pushing back your wedding, especially if those monthly payments are taking up a big chunk of his

    • Bride Sets Guinness World Record for Longest Veil

Bride Elena De Angelis wanted to turn heads on her wedding day, but she may have taken that desire a little too literally: She just set a new Guinness record for the longest veil ever worn by a bride - her white silk headpiece stretched for 1.86 miles!

Six hundred people had to help carry the veil during the processional. Thousands of residents from the Casal di Princice town in Naples cheered the bride as she made her way to the church in an antique car to marry Ferdinand Pucci last Thursday.

De Angelis' record-breaking accessory was crafted from 3.7 miles of material and designed by Gianni Molaro Campania.

Molaro said: "I was really greateful to be asked to design this veil...I wanted this veil to symbolize peace and hope and I think we have achieved this."

De Angelis' never-ending topper joins a list of some other equally mind-blowing bridal attire, including: the longest wedding dress train (which measured almost 8,165 ft.) created by Lichel van den Ende in the

It's all about expecting the unexpected! More and more brides are looking for modern spins on tried-and-true traditions. They're realizing that sometimes it's more fun to blend sophisticated styles with daring details-and I couldn't agree more! I've rounded up a few of my favorite ideas for fall/winter-let them inspire you to come up with exciting new ways to pleasantly surprise your guests.

      Bold Invitations
Ivory or cream-colored invites are taking a back seat to richly hued card stocks that express the couple's vibrant personality and originality. Think bronze, copper, and golden hues; earthy blends of burgundy, sienna, and chocolate brown; and deep shades of purple. Black and white silhouettes are also gaining popularity.

      Wardrobe Changes
Brides who want the best of both worlds will continue to wear not one, but two wedding gowns-an elaborate ball gown or form-fitting sheath for the ceremony and a shorter, sassier party dress to dance in at the reception.
