Taylor SwiftNot everyone is trilled to have a celebrity wedding crasher.

Over the weekend, Taylor Swift, 22, joined her boyfriend Conor Kennedy, 18, at his cousin's wedding. But according to the mother of the bride, Victoria Gifford Kennedy, Swift was not a welcome guest-and even refused to leave after being asked to do so. Victoria told the Boston Herald that she received a text from Conor about an hour before the ceremony asking if he and Swift could attend (we think someone needs to read up on his wedding etiquette…).

"I responded with a very clear, 'Please do not come,'" Victoria has said. "They came anyway… I personally went up to Ms. Swift, whose entrance distracted the entire event, and asked her as nicely as I could to leave. It was like talking to a ghost. She seemed to look right past me."

Pop-punk singer Avril Lavigne's love life might have been complicated, but she's finally found her counterpoint in Chad Kroeger, the frontman of rock band Nickelback!

People magazine reports that Kroeger, 37, proposed to Lavigne, 27, on August 8th with what appears to be a 14-carat pear-shaped engagement ring. The Canadian singers first met back in February, when they co-wrote some songs for Lavigne's upcoming album, her fifth, which will be released by the end of 2012.

"I knew I was falling for her," Kroeger has said of working with Lavigne. "It was incredibly powerful and something I'll never forget."

Their collaboration-turned-romance became a hot topic on Twitter yesterday, where fans (and haters) expressed their disbelief and messages of congratulations. In an effort to save money and use those creative juices, my mom and I planned to DIY all the flowers for the wedding - bouquets, boutonnieres and centerpieces. Simple enough, we thought, to determine which flowers we liked and arrange them in a beautiful away. We were wrong.

My mom purchased about 40 stems of various flowers, mostly roses and spider mums. She discovered a variety of spray roses she purchased were covered in thorns and were pretty much unable to be worked with for a bouquet at all.
