Courtesy Photo (3)2012 was a good year for manicures! According to a study conducted by the SymphonyIRI group, people spent $768 million total on nail care products like lacquers, at-home gel mani kits, and nail color strips, WWD reports. And if we had to guess, we'd say the recent surge in creative manicures and intricate nail art had something to do with the 32% growth from 2011! "I think that the big nail art phase can still go a little bit further-like with airbrushing, or using the real gold nails with charms that people wore in the '80s," celebrity manicurist Patricia Yankee told InStyle.com backstage at Jeremy Scott's spring show. "Nails definitely are the new accessory!" Agreed!

Kevork Djansezian/GettyFreida Pinto glowed at the SAG Awards last night, partly because of her bright Roland Mouret gown and partly because of her impeccable makeup look, the latter of which was created by makeup artist Kira Nasrat. "The inspiration was soft and sophisticated glamour," Nasrat told InStyle.com exclusively. "Freida has striking hazel eyes so I wanted to frame them." To do so, she used L'Oreal products on the star (Pinto is a face for the beauty brand), including L'Oreal Colour Riche Shadow Quad in Good Luck Charm ($8 at drugstore.com) and Infallible Eyeliner in navy ($8 at target.com). "I used warm tones all over her eyelids and a navy blue eyeliner on the lower waterline," Nasrat explained. What a gorgeous mix!

Freida Pinto worked a winterfresh look throughout her time at the Sundance Film Festival, where she was on hand to promote the inspiring documentary about education in underprivileged communities, Girl Rising. "Freida radiates natural beauty and has gorgeous skin," makeup artist Kira Nasrat told InStyle.com of working with the star on site in Park City, Utah. "For a makeup artist, she's a dream come true to work with." To achieve her look, Nasrat used a combination of L'Oreal products (Pinto is a face for the beauty brand), including the label's Colour Riche Gloss in #162 Blushing Berry on her lips. "I wanted to enhance her natural warm glow by keeping her perfect skin moisturized and dewy in the crisp mountain air," Nasrat said. "For her lips I sparingly used a berry colored gloss more as a tint." Shop the product for $8 at drugstores nationwide.

Retna Ltd.; Courtesy Photo; Time Inc. Digital Photo StudioDuring President Barack Obama's Inauguration ceremony yesterday, Beyoncé accompanied her showstopping rendition of the National Anthem with an equally-bold manicure.
We love how the tangerine hue was so bright, it almost tipped to red, so we had to find out the exact color her manicurist Lisa Logan used.
"When Beyoncé walked in, she just plainly said, 'I want orange,' so orange it was!" said Logan, who used NCLA's I'm With the Band on Knowles.
The singer has famously worn different shades of blue lacquer-perhaps as a nod to daughter Blue Ivy-but we thought her bright citrus manicure was a fun and on-trend addition to her performance.
Shop the color for $16 at shopncla.com.

Jon Kopaloff/FilmMagicBradley Cooper has been rocking long locks for a while-he even let them hang loose for the Golden Globes-and now we have a better idea of why! The Silver Linings Playbook star told E! Online that he just permed his hair for a new role. "I had to perm my hair today!" the actor told E!, while he remained mostly mum about what exactly his new film entails. "We did a camera test today and we're playing around with the idea of him having curly hair. I had rollers in my hair!" Now that's a vision! We can't wait to see Bradley with ringlets.

Getty Images (2)British crooner Estelle is no stranger to the Grammys!
The star was nominated (and won!) in 2009 for her song with Kanye West, "American Boy," which took home the gilded gramophone as Best Rap/Sung Collaboration of the Year. (That year, she had two outfits, both revealing that the singer was in a very metallic mood.) She's nominated again this year-this time, for Best R&B Performance for her song "Thank You"-and it turns out she already has big plans for her dress.
"I'm really thinking of tailoring something," Estelle told InStyle.com at Russell Simmons's Diamond Empowerment Fund GOOD Awards in New York. "I'm just thinking I want to do something different, something that will honor my heritage more than just wearing any designer. So we'll see."
Estelle also revealed that tailoring her own clothes is something she does often.
So where does she get her inspiration? "I dream up things!," she said.
