Gilbert Flores/BroadimageThere's a reason Sofia Vergara looked amazing at the 2013 Emmy Awards-her red-hot Vera Wang gown was custom-made to fit and flatter her every curve. "Vera offered to make a dress for me, and of course I was very flattered," the stunning actress told InStyle.com at the launch event for her latest Kmart collection. "My hair is blonde this year, and I wanted a contrast. She was willing to do two very beautiful red dresses in different shades for me," she said. But what really had everyone atwitter (and tweeting) on Emmy night was when Vergara publicly announced she was wearing Kmart underwear. "I always wear Kmart underwear because they're super-cute," she told us. "Last year, I had a wardrobe malfunction and you could see everything. This year, I was prepared because you never know!" Her Kmart lingerie line launched late last year, and she's been busy ever since creating new collections, including her upcoming fall/holiday line that plays up the aesthetics of her two favorite cities: NewRead More »from With the Emmys Over, We Asked Sofia Vergara What She Might Wear to the Golden Globes

Tony Barson/Getty ImagesNow here's a site we'll definitely be adding to our RSS feeds-Thandie Newton's beauty blog has officially launched! We first heard news of the star's latest venture when we spoke to her at the Toronto Film Festival, and we've been eagerly waiting for the blog to go live ever since. "It's really exciting! It's like in the format of a magazine," Newton told InStyle. "It's about pushing diversity, adding to what's already happening." ThandieKay.com is a collaborative effort between the star and makeup artist Kay Montano, and despite Montano's impressive resume, Newton is positive that her down-to-earth advice will become apparent. "What is great is that you realize she's a regular woman, so it makes regular women realize that they have all the power," she added. "She similarly wants to celebrate diversity, because it's what inspired both of us. We've traveled a lot, met a lot of incredible people, and so it's about giving that back. It's really authentic." We'll say! The blog is alreadyRead More »from Thandie Newton Has Joined the Beauty Blogging World!

While a lavish launch party announcing a brand's latest products was once the norm in the beauty world, NARS is changing the game by giving users a sneak peek at their upcoming Guy Bourdin-inspired range via Snapchat-which will then disappear into the ethos forever. The collection inspired by the late French photographer will roll out to stores on October 15, but if you're an avid Snapchatter, you could be getting previews of the impressive range in the weeks before the official release date. So, how does it work? Simply follow the "Narsissist" account on Snapchat, and you'll get access to a ten-second first look at the products as soon as today. NARS isn't the only style giant sending out snaps-for New York Fashion Week, Rebecca Minkoff enlisted the service to reveal pieces from her spring collection before the outfits even hit the runway. If you don't already have the app, download it for free at itunes.apple.com or play.google.com, and keep an eye out for NARS' Guy Bourdin

We're obsessed with Padma Lakshmi's gorgeous look on the red carpet tonight-and there's a story behind it. When discussing options with her makeup artist, Kathy Jeung, Lakshmi referenced the German model, Veruschka in the '70s. "So with that as our inspiration, we created a modern version: soft blended bronzing with a pop of pastel color on the eyes and a neutral full lip was another nod to that look of that era," Jeung told us. After prepping her skin with Koh Gen Do Cleansing Water ($39 at sephora.com) and La Mer Soft Cream ($285 at lamer.com), Jeung applied her foundation with a Stilazzi brush ($25 at stilazzi.com) and the Beauty Blender ($19.95 at sephora.com). first saturated with water, excess squeezed out to leave sponge moist (makeup artist tip!). The fragrance world is getting busy with all the new fall items hitting store shelves, and in the weirdest launch we've seen yet, a toast-scented perfume made its debut at London Fashion Week. The fragrance, aptly-named Eau De Toast, was created by the UK Federation of Bakers, and contains notes of caramel, malt-and of course, bread. We've seen fragrances inspired by sunscreen and paper before, but toast definitely brings a new sort of gourmand scent to the table. A study published in the Journal of Social Psychology found that the smell of freshly-baked bread caused people to act kinder toward strangers, and while we're not sure if Eau De Toast's aroma will prompt someone to offer you their seat on the bus or train, you can request a sample at bakersfederation.org.uk to find out for yourself. But if smelling like a bakery isn't your thing, Bottega Veneta is offering up an opulent way to layer their signature scent with their Luxury Bath Collection. The range includes a body scrub,

Looks like Olivia Wilde can now add Avon lady to her growing resume! The actress teamed up with the famed brand as the celebrity face of their Today. Tomorrow. Always. scent collection, which includes three versatile fragrances. "I like the sensual floral notes in each of the fragrances," Wilde told InStyle.com exclusively. "The Today. Tomorrow. Always. collection evokes feelings of true love, and what's more timeless than love? I am excited to be the face, and getting the chance to partner with Avon on one of their most-timeless fragrance series. It's been almost a decade since the first fragrance in the collection launched, and it's still going strong!"
The trio includes Today, an airy blend of white florals, Tomorrow, a sexy floriental with African violet, amber, and raspberry, and Forever, a fun mix of pink pepper, musk, and orange blossom. Barbie is getting all wrapped up-in a bandage dress! Hervé Léger by Max Azria is the latest design house to dress the famous doll in looks reminiscent of the brand's fall 2012 collection. Donning a classic red bandage dress, a black corset belt, black gladiator boots and gold clutch, the Hervé Léger Barbie-available for $150 at Hervé Léger stores, Neiman Marcus locations and on barbiecollector.com beginning October 15-also comes with an outfit change of a black and white jacquard dress, open-toe booties and a studded clutch. Ever so chic, the doll's runway-inspired looks were constructed in the same factory that produces the real collection. The biggest challenge of crafting the miniature dress? Scaling down the famous knits used in the dresses to make them Barbie-size, the brand said.

Looks like being flighty is now a good thing, thanks to Ciaté's new Feathered Manicure kit. The cult nail line that brought us the caviar, sequin, and foil effect kits are serving up feathers as this season's must-try manicure trend, with sets ranging from subtle neutrals to bright parrot-esque hues. Ciaté's creative director, Charlotte Knight, took inspiration from the hottest runway shows to develop the Feathered Manicure kits, and while the final result may look like the work of a pro, the effect couldn't be easier to create. Simply layer on the opaque base color, and after a generous sweep of the included Speed Coat Pro, press one of the feathers into the slightly-sticky lacquer, then use the manicure scissors to trim any longer pieces. Seal in the feather with a shiny top coat, and you're ready to fly. Pick up a set right now for $25 at sephora.com!
