Katy Perry has just joined a long line of celebrities who have channeled the legendary Egyptian queen Cleopatra in their work. Rarely one to shy away from theatrics, Katy's transformation is nothing if not dramatic, complete with an inky black wig and regal headdress, in addition to a modern-day touch of an outrageously bejeweled grill. Of course, this is all for Katy's upcoming "Dark Horse" music video-the track which, featuring Juicy J, has topped the Hot 100 chart for three consecutive weeks.

While the video has yet to be released, the official teaser hit the interwebs today-and judging from the 30-second clip, it should be a debaucherous, lightheartedly fun time, much in the vein of the 29-year-old's "Roar" video last year. The teaser showcases faux-hieroglyphics, along with the phrase, "If she fell in love, you'd be top dawg." We imagine Elizabeth Taylor, circaRead More »from PHOTO: Katy Perry Channels Cleopatra in Her 'Dark Horse' Music Video

So, it hasn't snowed in nearly a week-does that mean it's summer yet? Well, almost. But alas, just because you're confident setting aside your trusty Sorel boots unfortunately doesn't mean you get to hop right into an itsy-bitsy-teenie-weenie yellow polka dot bikini just yet. Unless, of course, you're headed somewhere tropical in the next few weeks (lucky you!) and really do need to stock up on sexy swimsuits right now.
Whatever your purpose, browsing the 50 absolutely adorable (and absolutely affordable!) one-pieces, tops and bottoms in the gallery above can't hurt-even in terms of credit card damage, thanks to the $50 price cutoff. And the styling method is up to you: mix and match the separates, or buy them in pairs.
We've culled the interwebs for the very best inexpensive bathing suits and presented them here, without contest; click through for 50 swimsuits under $50. To quote Corona, it's time to find your beach.

When Rodarte's Kate and Laura Mulleavy sent out a smattering of finale dresses printed with R2-D2, Luke Skywalker and other Star Wars characters during the label's Fall 2014 show in New York last week, editors and critics weren't quite sure what to make of them. Was this a reflection of the designers' excitement surrounding J.J. Abrams' upcoming Star Wars: Episode VII? The next step in the whole "geek chic" movement? Or were the dresses, as Style.com suggests, simply meant to get guests Instagramming? (For the record, mission accomplished.)
We'd be tempted to brush off Rodarte's Star Wars moment without much of a second thought-but just a few days ago, George Lucas' iconic sci-fi franchise was celebrated in another collection: at Preen, where images of Darth Vader's villanous visage adorned a number of looks. They say that three's a trend, and while we're still waiting for a third salute to Star Wars to pop up at the European shows-Miuccia Prada,Read More »from May the Fashion Force Be with You: Designers Get Inspired by Sci-Fi for Fall 2014

In the midst of both red carpet season and Fall 2014 fashion month, it can be easy to overlook the actual designers-those talents who spend countless hours outfitting celebrities for awards shows in addition to creating and showcasing their brand-new collections. Then, there's also the models, actresses and recording artists who help promote those same clothes.
Enter the annual Elle Style Awards, an evening to commemorate the fashion industry's key players of the year. At last night's ceremony, awards for Actress of the Year and Contemporary Designer of the Year went to Emma Watson and Isabel Marant, respectively, while Katy Perry walked away with the evening's highest honor, Woman of the Year, wearing a charming Vivienne Westwood dress. And in further beauty news, Suki Waterhouse (and her obsession-worthy bangs) landed the Model of the Year award. Exciting!
But let's pose the most important question, shall we: What did they wear? Click through the slideshowRead More »from Elle Style Awards 2014: Who was Best Dressed?

We'll admit it: last week, we were stunned upon discovering that two-time Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue cover girl Kate Upton hadn't landed the coveted front of the special-edition glossy for the third time running. That's not to say we weren't into the booty-baring shot of Chrissy Teigen, Lily Aldridge and Nina Agdal that did land the cover, but frankly, we were a bit disappointed in the lack of Upton love.
As it turns out, however, the 21-year-old did land her very own SI cover…sort of. Tucked behind the front of the issue, you'll find Kate gracing a bonus foldout cover in a coral-colored bikini (check out the shot below). But wait…there's more! Kate's also the subject of the issue's "Zero G" shoot, which features her bouncing (there's really no other word for it, folks) around inside an anti-gravity room (or is it a plane?) in Cape Canaveral wearing an assortment of gold swimwear. And while her celebrated curves are certainly looking as buoyant as ever in theRead More »from Kate Upton Poses in Zero Gravity for Sports Illustrated's Swimsuit Issue

Chafing, ingrown hairs, body odor and razor burn are not topics I often freely discuss-but last week, I stepped out of my comfort zone and got real about all things armpit-related with Dove deodorant consulting dermatologist Dr. Ellen Marmur.

A quick poll of our office shows that women tend to look at athletic apparel shopping in one of two ways. The first bunch see it as an investment in their health, and are willing to shell out whatever the newest, fanciest gym wear available costs. They believe that better gear means a better performance which means better results-and isn't that the whole point of exercising?
Then, on the other side of the spectrum, there's ladies who find the idea of paying more for spandex (which they're going to stretch out, and sweat in, and stain with Gatorade-eww) than actual clothing laughable. Although this group, of course, still wants pieces that are comfortable, functional and cute, they don't care if it's a name brand or comes with state-of-the-art wicking fabric developed by MIT scientists. The stuff just needs to look good and work.
However much you prefer to spend on your workout wardrobe, though, it's easy to do with our picks in the slideshow above. In it,Read More »from Seven Workout Essentials for Every Kind of Budget
