While feathers can be intimidating, Charlize Theron somehow manages to make this minidress look minimalist and completely, utterly wearable. The length showcases those mile-long legs (quite the accessory!), and the black-and-white combo is perfectly suited for an evening event-not too casual, not too dressy.
The borrowed-from-the-boys blazer and strappy pumps balance out the dress, and the skinny belt at the waist accentuates her gorgeous figure. The oversized watch? Unexpected and genius.

Lucky went behind the scenes at Lauren Conrad's cover shoot to find out what keeps the quintessential L.A. girl looking so gloriously sun-kissed and California chic. From her must-have hair-prep product to versatile everyday basics (cutoff denim shorts, pretty white camisole), the former reality star and current Paper Crown designer spilled her secrets. Best of all, other than a splurge-worthy Missoni bikini, none of her picks will bust your budget.

I embrace my pasty whiteness for the most part, but...I'm human. Once the summer rolls around, I want some sort of color other than porcelain. I've tried them all, but my favorite is still Jergens. The scent has gotten dramatically better over the years, it never streaks, and it's really affordable. An illustration of how much I love it: We have a beauty closet flush with self-tanners to try, but I went to a drugstore and bought two bottles of the firming version last week--one
