    • Tired of playing Games

Sometimes life really sucks, and other times it's not so bad, but really annoys me is when people make assumtions about the reasons you do something with out asking. For example I paint and I enjoy painting but it seems people naturally assume that because I paint that I am into collecting art. Whic

    • Rejection vs Thanks

I wrote a while back about rejection and a parent's unconditional love. There are so many different types of rejection it would seem saying no to a gift would be insignificant. Yet, if you look at the intent rather than the gift itself - you realize "Every act of Kindness is a Gift." I have heard many times how actions speak lounder than words so let me tell you a short story. I recently donated a piece of handmade jewerly to a local church, they were raising funds for education. I told them to add it to the things being auctioned and gave them a estimated value for bidding pursposes. Today I received a thank you letter from the church telling me 100% of any funds raised went directly to the school children. They did not tell me how much the piece actually sold for but rather said I could use the estimated amount as a tax deduction if I choose. I have not had a real job since I lost my job working for the government, but it was so kind of them to at least acknowledge my gift. On the

    • Health care non-debate.

I previously wrote health care for all or nothing at all, and I firmly believe we the American people are entitled to health care. Seems strange from someone with a temporary Medicard on Foodstamps struggling to finish their education. The government took my job, because I was doing my job. The circumstance surrounding my removal, involved being threaten, that if I did not stop exercising my right to whistleblow I would lose my job, my pension and eventually my life. The supervisor who threatened me was able to make all those things happen, he's retired now. And I am sure he is comfortable in his $300,000.00 house with this $56,000.00 dollar pension, but I have the satisfaction of knowing I changed history. Dispite my diagnosis of Cervical Dystonia (Parkinson's) and the end of my Federal Career; I now depend on my books and illustrations. I told them when I left Federal serivce and they told me all my knowledge was proprietary, that my brain was not proprietary. It is however, donated

    • Mixed Blood

It's really beginning to bother me that Obama is listed as African-American and no one seems to acknowledge his white heritage. They the Obama's are preparing to celebrate black music at the white house a it seems only blacks will be entertaining - although many black musicians admit they have been influenced by white artists in the music industry. I too am mixed blood white and Native-American, and while I understand the difficulties experienced by the black cullture; I question why persons of mixed blood are taught to surpress their cultural heritage until it suits them to disclose it.
I recently did a composite of drawings of Martin Luther King for students at the College I am attending, yet I was excluded from the actual Martin Luther King celebration on the day designated for him. I can only believe I was excluded because I appear to be white. I find this hurtful, yet as my Native heritage has taught me I must be inclusive of all. When our constitutional forefathers created this

    • I love living life.

People often ask me how I deal with pain - I pray alot.

I look for the rainbow in every situation, because as long as I have lived, I have always found it beats the alternatives.

If your going to sit around and feel sorry for your self soon you will notice you are sitting alone, because people will ask if they can help if you don't respond they think you are OK. Even if your not. Not being able to respond (being MUTE) leaves people to think you are self absorbed or self centered. And even though you want to tell them how you feel and what they can do to help - when you can't get the words out most people walk away.

I just got home from my second trip to the ER - I got my noise cauterized: for those of you unfamiliar with the process. It is extremely painful. Even when done by a skilled surgeon, the Dr. was good but my nose does not want to cooperate. I sneezed - now that I am home. Pray it does not start bleeding again.

I need to get in touch with other people with Parkinson's to

    • Pain and Suffering

I have dystonia and it affects my voice and my ability to swallow. A week ago I went to a Dr. and he checked my voice and throat. All week I have been having bloody noises. I had an appt with him today but canceled as I feel worse now than before the procedure. Every time I swallow the spasms start the picture I have shows my voice looks normal but the small picture where the air is suppose to go through is dark and ugly. I coughed up a blood clot the size that would fill the tiny whole where the air is to go. At night when I try to breath you can actually hear my throat claping shut as the air is escaping.

All this makes sense as I was exposed at work to a chemical that removes the oxygen from the air. My body is trying to get as much oxygen to remain in my body as possible. The problem is if my service animal is unable to wake me - she panics, I panic and start to cry. This causes further complications as the mucus from crying and the stress of trying to breath is exhusting; further

    • Supreme Court Mistake

      Well what do you think?
The first major decision and they got it wrong - now don't get me wrong I don't always contribute to the campaign trail parties. But for the 24 years I worked for the GOVMT I didn't vote at all for fear it might jeopardize my job which I was very good at. I was a union member and the union tried to help, but when your dealing with powerful, lawyers and a lowly employee all you get is grief. Even when I tried to file a tort claim against an Agency I had been working with, it vanished from the docket. We, I feel made the right choice with President Obama, but the courts are saying the people with all the money can spend it anyway they want. So now, when I file my taxes I'm NOT going to add money to those big money coffers at the bottom of the form where it says do you want to contribute to the political party campaign for next year I'm checking NO.

And I'm voting for who ever I feel will do the right thing, my dollar will go in the church collection plate or at

    • You gotta love the phone company

True tales of disability humor: I am MUTE well actually my voice comes out like a whisper when my Parkinson's is acting up.
So I get this e-mail from the phone company saying this is my last chance to renew my go phone which I don't use often anyway because I am MUTE: the conversation went like this.
Me: I need to find out why there is no money on my go phone
Febbie: I am sorry I can't here you can you speak up please.
Me: No this is as good as it gets, I have a disability, sorry
Febbie: O.K. What is the number of your go phone
Me: 000 000-0000, (I actually gave her the number) but I punched in the number when I dialed in.
Febbie: I understand but I have to confirm the number.
Me: I just want to find out what happened to the $153.00 I had on my go phone.
Febbie: I need your Pin number, because your minutes have almost expired.
Me: I don't know what my pin number is
Febbie: I can give it to you but you have to give me your SIMs number off the phone.
      Me: Where's that
      Febbie:
