    • Get Emma Robert's Soft, Gorgeous Curls!

I just love Emma Roberts' dark hair, don't you? I feel like it makes her stand out in the sea of Hollywood blondes! And I especially love this soft, tousled look she did at the Met Gala... I got the scoop on how to get the look from the owner of Prive Salons, Laurent Dufourg, who styled her for the event! Here, the breakdown:

      • Begin by blow drying after prepping with Prive's Foaming Styler.
      • After hair is completely dry, curl sections of hair with a small curling iron (1/2 inch barrel).

Tips for using a curling iron.

      • Pin curls with bobby pins for 45 minutes to allow the curls to set.
      • After removing the bobby pins, flip hair upside down and brush with a Mason Pearson brush to add volume to the curls creating a tousled look.
      • For the final touch, apply Prive's Finishing Texture Spray and Flash Brilliance for extra texture and shine.

    • Curly Hair? Rejoice!

I'm officially obsessed with the No Frizz Wave Shaping Curl Defining styling spray from Living Proof. I have long, fine, curly hair and if I touch it too much it turns into a puffy, fluffy, airy mess. I've always thought that if I want to wear it down, I'd have to either straighten it, or use a curling balm, which is usually too thick for my hair.

How to get supermodel sleep hair.

But the spray, developed by a team of MIT scientists, uses the first new anti-frizz technology in 30 years to fight humidity and friction, and it actually WORKS! My curls are more defined and less frizzy, and because their products aren't silicone based, you won't end up with the dreaded 90's wetcurl. Not cute. The formula comes in fine to medium, medium to thick, and thick to coarse varieties to ensure a full-blown curl comeback! $24 each, livingproof.com

    • How to Clean Your Makeup Brushes

A few weeks ago we got an email from 15 year old Frankee, who wanted to know how she should clean her makeup brushes. Well, Frankee, wonder no more! We went straight to makeup artist Tina Turnbow for some pro tips:

"Cleaning brushes is a daily thing for me! I usually use Mrs. Meyers All Natural Dish Soap--lemon or lavender. I'll take a glass, pour some soap in and swirl the brushes in it, to get 'em soapy. Then I fill the glass with warm water and start rinsing them out, squeezing the bristles of excess water and making sure they're placed in the proper shape. Don't dry your brushes with the hairs all splayed out!! Dry them with the handles down, fluffy ends up in the glass overnight.

Check out Tina's work backstage at Lela Rose fashion show.

If you're in a huge hurry, use an instant brush cleaner, like Vincent Longo Hygenic Professional Brush Cleaner. Spray it on the brush and swish around on a paper towel, removing all traces of makeup. It's mostly alcohol, so it dries quickly."

    • How To Get the Perfect Smoky Eyes

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of meeting the ridiculously nice makeup artist, Troy Jensen. Troy has worked with girls like Kristen Bell, Kim Kardashian, and Megan Fox (who is so insanely pretty, I try to make my boyfriend look away every time she's on TV). To try and channel some of that sultry gorgeousness, I turned to Troy for tips on how to get the perfect smoky eye using Q-tips, the ultimate beauty tool!

      1) Swipe a clean Q-tip around the eyes using a liquid makeup remover to remove any remaining eye makeup.

Try this gentle eye makeup remover.

      2) Apply a touch of concealer around the eyes and blend well.

      3) Use a fresh Q-tip as an applicator to pick up a dab of soft bronze brown cream eye shadow. Place in the center of the eyelid and blend outward. Build the color to be as dark as you like. I also use the cream eye shadow as a liner by just blending close to the lash line.

      4) Next, line the inside of the eye with a dark brown or black eyeliner.

    • Will You Try the Super Pink Lips Trend?

It looks like my makeup routine is going to be a bit schizo in the coming months. Though I really love the grey lip shown at doo.ri and will undoubtedly try to pull that off, I'm also LOVING the hot pink lip trend, shown at Antonio Berardi. It feels so fun, and so fresh, especially with steely fall clothes.

MAC Cosmetics senior artist Jenn Karsten used MAC's Madly Magenta Cream Colour Base paired with a dusting of Pigment in Magenta Madness to make the lips really glow. I also loved the bright two tone look at Ungaro--but that takes some serious guts!

    • Clearing Up Your Skin for Spring!

A good friend of mine, let's call her Ashley, recently emailed me for help with her acne. She was, to put it mildly, MISERABLE. And I really feel for her--as I'm sure all of you do. Is there anything more agonizing than acne? NO!

Well, the scars aren't so great either. Try these tips to minimize their appearance.

I recently got some survey results from Zeno (the magical zit zapping device that I tried--and it works--on a small surface blemish a few months ago) that I thought I'd share with you:

*77% of teens said they would "hate" to have a pimple on prom night and 76% said they would "hate" to have a pimple on high school graduation day. *Teen boys care as much about clear skin as teen girls do: 80% of teen girls and 75% of teen boys said they'd hate to have a pimple on prom night. *67% said they'd be willing to pay a hypothetical pimple fairy $100 to wave her wand over them to ensure that they never got another pimple again.

What are your skincare routines to avoid acne? You tell

    • How to Get Miley Cyrus' Red Carpet Beauty Look

Mark celebrity makeup artist Mai Quynh is one of my absolute fave talents to work with... She's crazy nice and ALWAYS willing to share the scoop on the celebs she works with! Here, she breaks down the look for Miley at the Country Music Awards:

      Eyes
"Miley's Monique Lhullier dress was hunter green and with her hair pinned up you could see the jeweled detail of the dress on the shoulder, so we decided do a sheer wash of hunter green on her eyes. I started by applying Mark Winkstick Hook Up Eye Shadow Stick in Envious from the lash line to the crease using a flat eyeliner brush to help blend and distribute evenly. Then I added Mark I-mark Custom Pick Eye Shadow in Retro Peacock from the lash line to the crease using an eye shadow brush. I then took an angled contour eye shadow brush to blend everything on the lid, leaving the lash line with the majority of the color. I finished by applying two coats of Mark Make It Big Lash Plumping Mascara in Raven."

Cornelia Zicu is an absolutely brilliant aesthetician who, after opening her own eponymous spa on New York City's Fifth Avenue, now is the Red Door Spas Chief Creative Officer. Below, some at-home spa tips...

    • Protect Your Pout from the Sun's Harmful Rays

These days I'm seeing more and more lip balms, glosses and lipsticks packing SPF. Finally! Anyone who knows me well knows I'm obsessive about protecting my skin. Since middle school I've been on a mission to get all my girlfriends to wear SPF on their faces, necks and hands every day (they resist at first, but will thank me 20 years from now). For the longest time, lips have been neglected. It's too unpleasant, even for me, to rub sunblock on my lips, and it's also fairly easy to forget to protect them because it isn't often that you feel an actual sunburn on your pout.

Forgot your block? Try these tips for cooling down a sunburn.

But fail to protect them, and the damage will cause your lips to crack and peel constantly as you get older, or worse they could develop skin cancer. Reports show that lips are actually more susceptible than skin to aging from sun damage, and still more prone to developing serious cancers. Studies have also shown that wearing shiny balms and glosses without
