      1. Consider Color: Are you changing your hair color for your big night? If you've made any drastic changes in hue, such as going from medium brunette to honey blond, you'll want to find a new brow shade that complements both your hair color and your skin tone. However, if you're just getting subtle highlights or going one or two shades lighter or darker, there's no need to change your brow color.

    • How to Choose the Right Birth Control

There are so many different types of birth controls out there that it's easy to get overwhelmed. We break down each type so you can find the one that's perfect for you.

      Condoms
      Condoms
You can buy a pack of condoms for about $10 at the drugstore and don't need a doctor's note or parent's permission. Basically, condoms are thin latex or plastic sheaths that cover the penis to protect against pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections (STIs). They come in different sizes so no guy (serious no guy) can tell you he's "too big to wear one"). If you or your guy are allergic to latex, you can buy non-latex condoms too. If you can't afford condoms, you can get them for free at almost any health clinic. Click here to find one close to you. Condoms are 82 percent effective with typical use (meaning some people don't use it correctly or it fails).

    • Hairstyle Secrets from the Set of the Hunger Games

The Hunger Games movie would not be complete if it didn't have Katniss' signature side braid or Effie's ever-changing hair color (is it blue, pink, or orange?). Now, with the help of set hairstylist Linda Flowers, we learn the secrets of the styles that brought our favorite characters to life!

Seventeen: What was your inspiration for the hairstyles you came up with for the characters in the movie?

Linda Flowers: I collaborated a lot with Judianna Makovsky, our costume designer. I looked at the clothes and they are cut very classically and are very beautifully tailored. I knew the hair needed to have harmony with that. I used very contemporary shapes and deep finger waves from the 30s and 40s and looser ones from the 50s with the bright colors. Then, I incorporated weird fuzzy textures into these classic styles. I mixed classic hairstyles and shapes with contemporary colors and textures. Everybody loved it!

    • Top 10 Tips for Your Teens Planning to Study Abroad

We rallied the advice from Mary Dando, Director of Study Abroad Programs at the University of Colorado at Boulder, as well as Jerri Stephenson and Kristina Wegscheider, co-founders of the female travel blog, Do It While You're Young, and came up with these 10 essential tips for a successful and safe study abroad experience!

      1. File Your Trip
      File Your Trip
The Smart Traveller Enrollment Program (STEP) allows you to register your trip online. "That way the State Department knows which Americans are located in an area if something should occur," says Dando. By providing an email, they are able to send you any alerts for the area where you are staying.

      2. Get Insured

      Get Insured
On top of your regular insurance at home, it is essential to get a policy that works overseas and includes care for any preexisting conditions. "It is important to look for insurance that covers evacuation," in the case of a political or natural disaster, says Dando.

    • 3 Make-up Tips for Girls with Glasses

As three bespectacled young women, we, the Seventeen web interns, could not have been more thrilled when geek -chic came into style and glasses were suddenly a necessary accessory, even for people with perfect vision. Even if the nerdy look is totally cool now, the fact remains that glasses can be a pain when it comes to doing your makeup. So, with the help of our friends at bonlook who shared some of their hottest new frames with us, we came up with three different (and easy!) looks for all you fellow four-eyes to try!

      1. Bold Lips
      Bold Lips with Glasses

Since eye makeup can sometimes seem redundant with glasses, the easiest way to make sure you still look put together is to put on some of your favorite bright lipstick! I actually layered two colors to get this orange-red shade: Topshop Lips in Confession and M.A.C. Lipstick in Runaway Red. I especially love the bold lips with tortoise frames, like the J'adore pair I'm wearing. To make sure my color doesn't look like it's flaking off

hair chalkingthe final look!Ever since Lauren Conrad posted a photo of her tie-dyed hair on her blog, I've been desperate to try it out myself. However, ever since a terrible color mishap in high school (I accidentally ended up "rocking" bright orange locks for months!), I've been a little wary of coloring my hair, especially on my own at home. Then, my friend told me about an awesome way to get multi-colored tips without any commitment - hair chalking! It's super-easy, and we had a ton of fun doing it. Here's how you can get the look too!

A old towel or t-shirt you don't mind getting color on.
