Miss USA 2010, The Scandal: Today the internet is abuzz with over-the-top pictures of this year's Miss USA contestants. These aren't secret photos leaked to the press. They're the women's official pageant pictures for the year, taken as part of a photo shoot dubbed (by the contest itself!), "Waking Up In Vegas."
Sounds a bit sexy, eh? Women in lingerie (note the profusion of push-up bras), hair tousled, looking as if they've just had a bit of a romp. If that's not exactly the message we want to be sending to kids, it's not nearly as demeaning as what else is going on on the Miss USA website.
As a mom-blogger, I visited the site to determine whether any of this year's contestants happen to be mothers. There's no way to tell. The only info offered on each is her name, age, and hometown. AND the lingerie pics. The worst part? Based only on this info (basically, no info at all, except for the semi-clothed pictures), visitors are asked to rate the women.Read More »from Miss USA: Photos Aren't the Worst Part
