Love the smell of smoke? So does Christopher Brosius, an independent scent creator and owner of the I Hate Perfume brand Christopher's business plan is to create fragrances that don't smell like traditional commercial scents, but rather things we smell of every day. Other perfumes of his include "A Day at the Beach" and "Burning Leaves"
Just because you're reading novels on tablet now, doesn't mean you can't be near the smell of books. Chanel mastermind Karl Lagerfeld, who's creating a library scent, is a notorious book-lover. His personal library contains more than 300,000 books and to him, the fragrance that will contain "a fatty tone" is an absolute must-have.

If you mentioned Cynthia Nixon and her problem with rosacea two days ago, I could have cared less. Today, I would be incredibly interested in the topic. The difference? Between now and then I was diagnosed with the same annoying skin condition.
Yesterday I was at the dermatologist getting pesky pimples zapped and sucked (more on that later!) when the dermatologist mentioned acne might not be my problem. "There's a lot of redness in this area," the doctor said, looking at the lower half of my face. "This might be rosacea."
Photo: Michael N. Todaro/ FilmMagicAccording to her interview with Shape, Nixon experienced the same thing. "When Cynthia Nixon began to notice her skin was breaking out again in her 30s, she began using the same methods she used as a teen to fight back: a strict regimen of cleansers, scrubs, and astringents. But when those didn't help -- in fact, they made things worse -- she began to get frustrated. Turns out, no Read More »from Still Battling Acne? it Could Be Rosacea
It's 7 a.m., you scarf down a bowl of cereal and two much-needed cups of coffee only to find yourself starving by 10 a.m. Sound familiar? Wellness guru Frank Lipman, M.D., says it's all too common. In fact, almost all of us are getting breakfast "wrong," which is leading to weight gain and fatigue. The New York City-based physician says what our bodies really need to start the day is healthy fat and protein.
Photo: Getty ImagesA person's diet, especially breakfast, should include "no gluten, no sugar and as little dairy as possible; breakfast is the meal people find the hardest," Dr. Lipman said. "Part of the problem is that gluten is super addictive. You're basically a drug addict, and [when you take gluten out of your diet] there's going to be withdrawal."
So gluten, meaning anything with wheat in it, leaves us feeling sluggish and dependent. But banishing bagels from the breakfast table is easier said than done, unless you have a decentRead More »from The Breakfast that Helps You Lose Weight
We feel that celebrity fragrances have been a little overkill lately, but with a personality like Nicki Minaj, maybe we can expect something new. The 'Turn Me On' singer has announced she will release her debut fragrance this fall.
Photo: Getty Images"I have always been a huge fan of great fragrances," Minaj told WWD. "This is yet another extension of my creative expression. I designed the scent and bottle with my Barbz in mind." I think we all can agree that it wouldn't be true to Nicki's character if her Barbie alter ego wasn't represented.
While the fragrance is still in the works, here's a glimpse of what we can expect. "I like scents that feel summery, but have a va-va-voom. I want to smell like a sexy and confident woman, not like candy."
Sounds like we'll have a fun new scent for date night. What do you think ladies? Is this something you'd want to try?Read More »from Nicki Minaj to Launch Signature Fragrance!

Australia has no shortage of sexy female celebrities. From the older generation of Nicole Kidman, Naomi Watts and Elle Macpherson to the young up-and-comers like Rose Byrne and Miranda Kerr, it seems that Aussie women like to keep their beauty style natural, but with a sexy twist, which is usually all about the hair. While their makeup styles are typically a healthy rosy glow or maybe a bold lip on an otherwise bare face, their hair exudes sexiness via lush washes, incredible shine, or a perfectly tousled texture. The point: Simple makeup + sexy hair = knockout gorgeous.

Let's start at the beginning: for a very, very long time whale vomit has been a key ingredient in some of the best-smelling, high-end perfumes. Certain fragrances by Chanel, Gucci and Givenchy have all been rumored to contain this vomit, better known as "ambergris."
Photo: Luxist.comAmbergris is a waxy substance formed in the stomach of a sperm whale. It protects the lining of the stomach from sharp "foods," like seashells and large squids, and when indigestion hits, the whale vomits it up.
Even though it smells like crap, literally, when it's secreted, it turns into a sweet-smelling rock that washes up on the beach, slowly over time. Thanks to its new, sexy smell, it ends up in fragrances.
Here's the good news: ambergris is expensive stuff. It's very rare to find it, making it a valuable commodity (roughly about $20 per gram). Needless to say, not all brands can afford such luxury, and now a new, natural product has becomeRead More »from Whale Vomit Won't Be in Your Perfume Anymore
If you've ever applied nude makeup you probably know what it means to look washed out, or worse, like you haven't done a thing. "A lot of women thinks nude means pale," said Kimberly Soane, Bobbi Brown's director of global artistry, when nude is actually about highlighting your natural skin tone. Here are some tips on how to get this timeless, goes-with-everything look.

The key to nude lips is choosing a shade with a hint of color. You're not trying to neutralize your entire face. Needless to say, the color of your skin tone determines what product you choose, but the idea is to brighten your pout.
For pale skin, try a peachy-pink color; for olive skin tones, choose a warm color with gold or caramel undertone, like NARS Buenos Aires Velvet Gloss Lip Pencil ($24; available April 15 at Narscosmetics.com); and for darker skin choose a deep honey or light coffee color.

Male athletes getting pedicures is nothing after hearing this. It seems that men have dived even further into the once female-driven beauty industry, by getting brazilian waxes.
Just like for women, the treatment removes some or all pubic hair. And the crazy part: men walking in for the treatment are from all different backgrounds and communities.
Photo: Peter Dazeley/Getty Images"It's the gay community, it's the straight community, it's very conservative guys, it's very liberal guys," said Mike Indursky, the president of the Bliss chain of spas, to The New York Times. "All different age groups are coming in. It's much, much bigger than we ever thought."
It's so big now that Bliss actually offers the Ultimate He-Wax, and visits for the treatment is gowing to double by the end of this year. But it doesn't end there. Face to Face, a salon in Manhattan with predominantly male clients, offers "pejazzling," which is exactly what it soundsRead More »from Hot or Weird: Men Getting Brazilian Waxes?

1. Cat Eyes
Cat eyeliner is the perfect complement to the boyfriend look, because it really makes the eyes pop. And women, of course, generally have larger eyes than men.
2. Pink Blush
Not only is pink blush having a moment this season, but it really brings out the natural rose of the cheeks, which softens the features. If you're worried the pink might look too young, follow the expert tips from our how-to!
3. Exaggerated Eyelashes
Again, make those eyes pop with voluminous lashes. If fake lashes like Kim Kardashian's are too time consuming, use a volume mascara like Lancome Hypnose Doll Lashes Mascara ($26, Macys.com). To really lengthen the lashes,
Just because you're hitting 40, doesn't mean you need to cover up your lovely legs. In fact, a new study released by a British clothing store, Debenhams, says women in their 40s are wearing much shorter skirts than ladies in their 30s.
Photo: American Idol 2012/Contributor/Getty ImagesThe study, which observed hemline lengths of various age groups, said women's skirts were roughly 14 inches long between the ages of 40-45. When the same study was conducted in 2009, skirts only stayed that short until women reached the big 4-0. Needless to say, young ladies in their early 20s still wear the shortest minis, but as they get older, particularly into their 30s, hemlines lengthen. Then 40 hits, and skirts get shorter once more.
With leading ladies like Jennifer Aniston, 43 and Jennifer Lopez, 42, staying in shape and keeping their legs toned, we fully support the decision to keep the minis short. Hey, if you've got it, flaunt it!
