      As tradition goes (although the times, they are a-changin'), the man is the one who gets down on one knee and pops the question -- but there is "one" loophole. Supposedly, since the fifth century, it has been acceptable for a woman to ask for her significant other's hand in marriage on one day that comes only every four years: leap day. (You can thank the Irish for this tradition.) And you're lucky ladies, because 2012 brings with it the birth of hip-hop royality, the possible end of the world, and -- most importantly of course -- leap day, February 29th.       We've been counting down the seconds to the 84th Academy Awards since the nominees were announced last month. And now that the big day is less than a week away, we're beside ourselves with excitement. We can list off all the nominees -- and even make a few well-educated predictions. But if you haven't been as attentive to the details, no worries -- we'll give you the low-down. Not only will we tell you some of our favorite nominees, but more importantly, we'll show you how to live like the characters or real-life actors in these Oscar-nominated films.       The fashion set loves to travel, in case you didn't know. Twice a year, editors, buyers and influencers traverse the globe (starting in New York and capping it off in Paris) eye-balling the latest looks from each city's top designers for Fashion Week. But sometimes hotels can fall short in terms of their chicness.
