    • Kate Middleton is the Most Influential Icon in the UK. Guess Who She Beat for the Title!

      by Amy Wicks

Getty ImagesGetty Images If you had to pick the biggest beauty icon of the year, who would it be? In the UK Kate Middleton was voted fairest of them all, beating Kate Moss and Victoria Beckham. According to a new survey, women are three times more likely to buy beauty products used by the Duchess than the other famous faces. Products said to be favored by Kate include Elizabeth Arden's Rose Illumination Highlighter and Lancome's Advanced Genifique Youth Activating Concentrate.

Not only was Kate Middleton named biggest beauty icon but she's also led many women to change their hair color from blond to brunette. "Two years ago blonde shades were more than twice as popular as brunette tones," Siobhan McDermott, general manager of beauty site feelunique.com, told the Daily Mail. "Immediately after the Royal Wedding we experienced a surge in brown shades and in particular, Kate's signature Natural Dark Brown colour. It's now our most popular shade and contributes

I can't help it: I always swoon over a retro, beehive-y updo. And when you go and add modern colorful eye makeup, like Dianna Agron did last night, I actually begin to experience lightheadedness. The juxtaposition is just so perfect, and so pretty, I almost can't take it.

Dianna isn't the only one pairing jewel-tone eye makeup with retro ladylike hair right now. Here's Marion Cotillard at last night's premiere of Blood Ties in Cannes, wearing a smudgy cobalt-blue eye with her beehive. Her hair also had that same glam side-sweep in the front. Oh my, I am so in love with this look!

    • Beauty Secrets to Steal from Alice Eve

      by Jessica Radloff

Benny HorneBenny Horne You may remember Alice Eve (and her fantastically mismatched eyes) from Entourage, but her new role this summer, as the Enterprise's molecular biologist in Star Trek Into Darkness, will propel the Brit into the stratosphere. We asked for her get-pretty expertise.

GLAMOUR: You have heterochromia--your left eye is blue, and your right is green. Curious: Has it influenced how you do your makeup?

ALICE EVE: Usually it's not very noticeable. I did go through a period where I did blue eyeliner on top and a green underneath. I guess I was trying to accept myself.

GLAMOUR: Both of your parents act. Did your mom pass down beauty tips?

ALICE EVE: Yes! My mom taught me to spray rosewater and glycerin on my face after I've done my makeup, to set it and give a bit of moisture. My favorite is still the Whole Foods rosewater and glycerin spray, which is like $10.

(They Might Change Your Life, or at Least Your Facebook Page)
      by Petra Guglielmetti

Having just renewed two government-issued IDs, I have been harshly reminded of what NOT to do when being photographed: stare straight-on at the camera, do a weird half-smile. As a beauty blogger, I've mastered looking cute in selfies, but as evidenced on my license and passport, when I don't dig into my bag of photo-posing tricks, I look...intense.

The experience traumatized inspired me to investigate further why some people look so amazing in photographs. I picked three of my most photogenic Facebook friends (they always look gorgeous!) and asked them to reveal their personal photo-taking tricks. And, oh boy, did I get some good, extremely specific advice for you. Read on.

      by Beth Shapouri

David Stesner David Stesner Thanks to a brand-new round of 30s-induced hormonal acne (yay!), I've been stopping in to Dr. Eric Schweiger's Clear Clinic a LOT recently--and he has me on a regimen that contains some rather harsh ingredients that need to be introduced with care. His secret to making sure my skin doesn't get all bajiggity on me?

For the products I'm using that are laced with drying stuff like benzoyl peroxide and Retin-A, he has me create what he calls a "moisturizer sandwich." This means I put on a layer of moisturizer, then the product, then another layer of moisturizer. The idea is that the first layer creates a barrier to protect my skin, and the last keeps it from taking all the moisture away.

Last year Baze hailed coconut oil as the new magic beauty potion, and I'm going to go right ahead and hop on the bandwagon with her. When used in the raw, extra virgin, chock-full-of-good-fats form as a biweekly deep conditioner, this stuff is a veritable DIY hair miracle in a mason jar!

Here's how you do it: Generously slather it onto your hair, starting a few inches from your scalp (especially if your hair is fine) and work it all the way down to the ends, taking care to focus on the parts of your strands that are damaged or need a little extra TLC. Cover your hair with a plastic conditioning cap and leave it on for a half hour. (Make it even more intensive by adding little heat to the mix.) Rinse using warm water and marvel at how much softer and more manageable your strands are! At the very least, you can expect your hair to be far less frizzy and a little bit shinier.

Oh, and if you suffer from a dry, flaky

    • A Shocking Number of Women in Their 20s Are Getting Botox. Are You One of Them?

      by Amy Wicks

Fairchild ArchiveFairchild Archive If you're in your 20s and getting periodic injections of Botox, you're definitely not alone. I was pretty surprised to find out that among women in their 20s Botox use is up 10 percent, according to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. I may be on my own here, but getting Botox at such a young age sounds a little extreme.

See more: 10 Beauty Tricks That Make Guys Melt

For the uninitiated, Botox is injected using a needle. The toxins basically freeze your wrinkles and fine lines. It's commonly used in areas where lines begin to show up, such as around the mouth and eyebrows. The full effect of the Botox doesn't show up on your face for at least a week, so if you're looking for a quick, overnight fix, this isn't the way to go.

"Because you are injecting small amounts of liquid, you can notice some bruising or swelling, which goes away in 24 hours," Dr. Brian Bonanni told Yahoo. "The full effect of Botox takes a couple of days. They normally say three to five days,

    • Is This the Least Romantic City in America?

CN Digital Studioby Gena Kaufman, Glamour

Look, not every city can be a Paris or a Venice. Some places have to be more practical so that people can actually get stuff done in them instead of just strolling down the streets with their lover or feeding each other croissants and gelato. Wait, why again?

But to gain the title of least romantic in the U.S. seems like an unusual honor, right? Amazon ranked American cities according to their purchases like romance novels, relationship books, romantic movies and music, and sexual wellness products, and want to know the city that is just not that into romance?

Boise, Idaho! Gee, have a happy Valentine's Day, you heartless Northwesterners. Just kidding, it is of course possible that Boiseians (um, is that right?) just get their romance fix from somewhere other than Amazon. Although do they know how convenient it is to get everything from there?

    • Get Perfect Eyebrows with These Makeup Artist Tips

CN Digital Studioby Nikki Ogunnaike, Glamour

Full disclosure: I haven't waxed or threaded my eyebrows in about six months. I'm cheap and would rather pluck a stray hair every once in a while than go in for the full thing. As such, I checked in with Erwin Gomez, who is make up artist to stars such as Jennifer Garner, Eva Longoria and Rosario Dawson and owns his own salon in Washington DC, for tips on how to get perfect eyebrows at home.

A quick trim is often the best way to reveal the natural arch of your brows: "When brows are too long, women often tweeze or wax more hair than is necessary," says Gomez. "Always trim your hair before you start tweezing, especially if it's long and bulky. Follow the hairline of your brows, taking care to not cut too short as that will give you a bald spot. Then, comb your hair with a disposable mascara brush."

Figure out your desired shape: "Using a pencil, draw an imaginary line from the tip of the side of your
