How to get glowing skin may seem like one of the great mysteries of the universe, but it doesn't have to be. Not if you know these four tricks anyway. Here are the secrets:
1) Use my two-step process. See, the first thing you probably think of here is to use an illuminating face primer or pearly highlighter, which will work, sure. But my trick to making it look natural is to smear it on the areas you want to "glow" and then put a tinted moisturizer on top to mute it a bit. Worked for this reader.

2) Exfoliate. Nothing dulls your skin like some sad dead skin cells lying around.
3) Smear a bit of a cream with a natural sheen like Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream or Rosebud Lip Salve on your cheekbones. This is a great option for daytime because there's no actual shimmer to get too sparkly on you in the sunlight.

In a new survey that hit the papers yesterday nearly half (44 percent) of women said they linked going bare-faced with unattractiveness. Not that makeup simply makes them feel prettier or that they were more confident when they had concealer on-but that their natural faces were less attractive when not covered in some sort of paint.
Some blogs are reporting that this means that half of women feel ugly when they aren't wearing makeup, but from the little information I can find on the wording on the survey, that doesn't seem to be the case. These women indicated that not wearing makeup is linked with unattractiveness, but when it comes to their own feelings on the matter, 16 percent said they felt unattractive when they didn't wear makeup, 14 percent said they felt self-conscious without makeup and 14 percent felt naked without makeup. Regardless though, this all leads to the conclusion that nearly half the women felt that makeup

Makeup artist Fiona Stiles used CoverGirl products to give Paula makeup that was fun and glamorous yet not overpowering (a.k.a., a great look for us regular girls to copy!). Here are the exact steps she followed, for those of you who'd like to replicate the look:
1. Skin: Fiona used a Beauty Blender and a synthetic foundation brush to apply foundation. Paula's wearing CoverGirl Queen Collection Natural Hue Liquid Makeup in Rich Sand.

There are just certain things in the makeup department that, no matter how many times I write about how they're just not a good idea, I still see women going for. Totally normal, non-clueless women. We have to do something about this. Here are the five mistakes I'd like us all to eradicate once and for all.

Between guy-liner and boy buns, I know that the male species is increasingly becoming a bit more feminine, but man-manicures take the cake. Last week I was seated next to a (straight!) gentleman on my flight to London wearing black nail polish. True story. Of course I asked a million questions!

As it turns out, photographer and blogger Adrian Morales' never steps out in public without black polish on his nails. "It's my signature style-usually my wife (better known as my partner-in-crime) paints them for me."
His wife... paints his nails... black... for... him... (Now I know how obsessive I am about my weekly manicures, and I remove my nail polish the instant I see the first chip. I'm not sure how I'd feel about my significant other sharing my passion for pretty polish.)

Fine, to be honest, it wasn't really me who discovered this mascara--it was our blog readers who convinced me to try it! And I admit, I only gave it a shot due to emergency circumstances. Want to find out what my new favorite, amazing drugstore mascara is? Read on.

As I have shared approximately 34,583 times before here on the blog, my all-time favorite mascara is DiorShow Blackout. It fulfills all of my personal mascara wants and needs: it's extremely volumizing, has a giant fat bristly brush, slicks on superblack and doesn't smudge or budge (other than occasional flaking if I cake on way too much in an effort to make my eyes look dramatic). Ever since I discovered it, I've found it difficult to love other mascaras, and the ones I do love tend to be just as pricey. Yes, girls, I have become a bit of a mascara snob, and admittedly have not done my beauty-blogger duty

As a beauty writer, my apartment is littered with all kinds of products, from the incredibly useful to the slightly ridiculous to the 'is-this-really-even-necessary?!'... One of the items that can easily be classified under the former and the latter categories is hydrating mist/water sprays. (My ex-boyfriend couldn't understand why I wouldn't just pour a gallon of Poland Spring into an old Windex bottle. Le sigh. Clearly boys just don't understand these types of things.)

Most people use 'water-in-a-can' sprays to cool off irritated, overheated skin during the sweltering summer, but I've actually found a few other great year-round uses:
1) They're great for loosening up tight skin. After washing my face, my skin feels super tense and incredibly dry, so I liberally spritz on one of my hydrating mists as a pre-moisturizer to soothe and prep my skin to better absorb my serum.
2)
