To co-sleep or not to co-sleep... that is the question.Whether or not your baby sleeps in your bed is a hot topic which many people are ready to give you an opinion on. Some will tell you right away not to make the 'mistake' of letting your baby sleep in your bed, while others will encourage co-sleeping and feel it's a wonderful thing to do for baby. I personally feel that you should do what's best for your family and whatever gets everyone a good night's rest…even if that means having your child in your bed for three years.
When I was pregnant with my first child, my husband and I were determined that our baby would not sleep in our bed with us. We were ready to have her sleep in her crib and in her own room. After many tiresome nights of late-night nursing sessions, we started bringing our baby into our bed - it was just so much easier to nurse her right in bed and go right back to sleep.
Once our daughter grew older, she had trouble sleeping in her own bed and as a toddler, she would frequently wake in the middle of the night

By Disney Baby | Parenting – Thu, Feb 21, 2013 4:35 PM ESTPerhaps the greatest truth and cliche of parenthood is that it all goes by too quickly. In an instant, our newborn babies are walking and talking and driving cars. We try our best to take photos, write down our memories, blog about our babies, and save their sweet mementos, but it still happens too fast. I've heard mothers and fathers begging for time to slow down, to pause, just to savor their time with their littles. Jodi from Che & Fidel came up with the neatest idea called The 52 Project. The 52 Project is a collaboration of mothers, fathers, bloggers, writers, and memory-makers, simply taking one portrait of their children once a week for all of 2013. Here are 7 of the most beautiful portraits we've seen so far! -- Lacy Stroessner

5 reasons to enjoy a baby-free getawayThe last couple years, my husband and I have been lucky enough to travel to wonderful places with his company. While it's easy to say yes to Hawaii, it's not so easy to think about leaving the kids behind. Last year our baby, "Pink", was just 8 months old. This year, she was 20 months old. I worried, worried, and worried some more, but then we went. And here are just a few of the reasons I'm glad we did.
1. Time for Two
While date nights and stolen moments are wonderful, there's something different about going back to being a two-some for a couple days. It's a great time to think back to your time together before kids. When you only had eyes - and time - for each other.

By Disney Baby | Book Club – Tue, Feb 19, 2013 5:42 PM ESTImagining baby names is so much fun, whether you're about to be a first-time parent, are pregnant with your fifth kid, or are just planning for way down the road. In fact, for me, it's way more fun to think about baby names now that I'm no longer feeling immense stress about being just weeks from having a baby and still not having a name. Now I can go back to thinking about names in the abstract, without any pressure! And when I saw that the Diamond Edition of the Peter Pan movie was being released this month, I couldn't help thinking about all the great names that could be inspired by that book and movie. Here are some of my favorites, both traditional and a little more unique! --By Janssen Bradshaw

The CharmerOne of my favorite aspects of raising Bee is watching her grow into a mini-human. She is slowly becoming someone with personality nuances, quirks and preferences (which she so urgently alerts us to!). My husband and I often catch glances and hints at what her personality might look like as she grows older, and so far, she's a toss-up between six pretty popular types.
1. The Charmer
We all know The Charmer - the baby that never stops smiling and feeds off the laughter and energy of others. A crowd-pleaser for sure!
The Shy Guy2. The Shy Guy
Most babies have bouts of shyness at times, but The Shy Guy is one who clings to a select few individuals without fail (generally parents or siblings) and prefers to be held close for protection.

6 ways to help an older sibling cope with jealousyAdding a new family member is a big transition for everyone. If it's your first, you have to get used to being responsible for someone other than just yourself 24/7. Even though I was a nanny for many years before becoming a mother, I still had a pretty significant adjustment period when we brought our daughter Zinashi home.
Then when we added baby Elvie to our family, we had to adjust again, but also help Zinashi adjust to having another little person vying for our time and attention. While we'd done our best to teach her to wait and to be considerate of the needs of others before Elvie came, there was nothing that we could do that would truly prepare her. We laid some foundations, and Zinashi was truly overjoyed to become a big sister, everyday life sometimes presents big opportunities for little jealousies to creep in. It's normal for an older sibling to feel a little displaced when a new baby enters the family, and we recognize that. By Disney Baby | Healthy Living – Thu, Feb 14, 2013 5:38 PM ESTI don't know about you, but now that the holidays are over, I'm ready for winter to end and spring to come as soon as possible. I feel as if I've become a hermit in my own house, I'm suffering from a serious case of cabin fever. But thankfully, there appears to be a light at the end of the cold, dark, winter tunnel. According to our favorite groundhog Punxsutawney Phil, his shadow is suggesting only six more weeks of winter. Let's all cross our fingers it's a quick six weeks. M'kay? So the end of winter countdown has officially begun for me, and you better believe I'm fighting my best fight to combat the all too familiar winter "blahs" that typically get me down this time of year. -- Emily Elling
