After receiving the Favorite Movie Actress and Favorite Female Buttkicker blimps for her role as Bella Swan in the final "Twilight" installment, the 22-year-old actress seemed enthralled by the whole sliming process, swirling her hands in the goo left over on the podium and exclaiming "Dude! I was too much of a coward to accept this and now I'm like, 'What was I thinking?!'...this is really cool!" She then embraced the recently-slimed presenters Sandra Bullock and Neil Patrick Harris. Bullock is no stranger to the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards' slime tradition--in 2009 she got a massive slime attack with co-presenter Hugh Jackman. Come Saturday, some unfortunate stars will be wearing slime whether they want to or not. The goopy green stuff that is synonymous with the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards is by no means a stylish statement, but don't let bright green get a bad rap on account of slime's tricky past--the color can and should be worn at all opportunities. Everyone from Katy Perry to Kate Middleton have rocked green all over, and we love it too--especially when worn as an accent color with neutral black. If you don't want to commit to a full outfit, test drive the color with a bright green eyeliner to make your peepers pop. 

Let's be honest, everyone: a big reason why you tune in to the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards every year is to see your favorite celebrities get doused in gooey green stuff. Don't be ashamed to admit it--we do it, too! Ever since the awards show's inception in 1988, stars have been getting sprayed, splashed, and drenched in slime. Take for example Katy Perry. The "Firework" singer got blasted so hard by pressurized slime in 2010 that she got knocked down on stage. It's since been called "the most talked-about sliming of all time." She took the whole thing in stride and laughed it off on stage with co-presenter Jonah Hill, but off-stage and wrapped in a fluffy robe, she looked a little distressed. We can't imagine that the mystery substance is too easy to get out of blue hair, and we're really hoping that the dry cleaner was able to save that sunny yellow dress of hers.

If you don't recognize her, fear not--you will soon. Lendzion is, in addition to Heather Morris' (of "Glee"/Beyonce backup dancer-fame) bestie, playing Forest, "Selena Gomez's [character's] friend from church youth group," in the upcoming and much-buzzed-about film "Spring Breakers." Starring the former Disney Channel starlet, Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Benson, and a be-cornrowed James Franco, the film is debuting at SXSW and follows the story of four...let's say "adventurous" young women and their relationship with a sketchy guy. One of those designers is the heritage fashion house Balmain. Lately, Balmain has been all about embellished mini dresses and plenty of leather, and this season they sent a collection of totally rad, late-'80s, early-'90s-inspired outfits shuffling down the runway. And, like The Thread, they're having an epic bout of nostalgia. Big shoulders, puffy sleeves, and belted, lamé jumpsuits dominated the catwalk, and while the clothes were typically well-crafted and gorgeously rich-looking, all I could keep thinking was, "You Can't Touch This," and/or "Stop: Hammer Time." Balmain's big-shouldered leather jacket with an ostentatious gold belt and a head-to-toe gold lamé getup would have been right at home in one of MC Hammer's music videos circa 1990. Now, with the Oscars quickly approaching not only is she nominated, but she's a favorite to win! And for good reason--"Anna Karenina" has been referred to as "costume porn" by some and as visually stunning by pretty much everyone else. From sumputous furs to sweeping ballgowns, the film is chock full of stunning outfits and accessories we're lusting over here at The Thread. We got a chance to ask Durran a few burning questions about her process and the making of "Anna Karenina."

The Thread: How did you get started in costume design? What made you want to go down this road?
Jaqueline Durran: Well, I had finished at university and didn't really know which direction to go in and I realized in my early 20s that costume designing existed as a job by watching TV and watching films. I realized that

We're waxing romantic on everything from overalls to daisies, but don't worry--we haven't forgotten one of the greatest things to come out of the decade: the British girl group, The Spice Girls. For those of us that had the profound privilege of growing up with Ginger, Baby, Posh, Sporty, and Scary, there are more than a few reasons why we miss them, but these are the most pressing. We'll tell you what we want, what we really, really want: more girls like The Spice Girls. Sorry we're not sorry.

1. There was something for everyone
If you liked sports (especially soccer), Mel C aka "Sporty Spice" was your favorite of the group. Were you a clotheshorse and/or a little bit goth? Victoria "Posh Spice" was the LBD-wearing gal for you. If you were a girly girl with a sweet tooth, Emma "Baby Spice" was right up your alley. In addition to her burgeoning music career and the release of her latest live album, "So Good, So Right," she's close friends with two of fashion's brightest stars: Mark Badgley and James Mischka of their eponymous line, red carpet staple Badgley Mischka. We caught up with the singer and her designer friends backstage before the moody and Hitchcockian Badgley Mischka Fall/Winter 2013 show.

The Thread: We know that you're fans of Nicole's, but are you fans of jazz in general? Does it influence your design process?
James Mischka: Well first of all, Nicole is influencing jazz right now--not the other way around! But, actually I'm not usually a fan of jazz. I love Nicole's version of it, though.
Mark Badgley: We've seen her in concert twice now and both times were such amazing experiences--once downtown and once at Lincoln Center--and her spin on it and her song selection are completely up our
