Reese Witherspoon is never a disappointment when she steps on the red carpet--often glamming it up in gowns by the likes of Christian Dior and Armani with perfectly coiffed hair and understated jewelry. The 36-year-old petite—and currently pregnant--star typically brings her red carpet prowess to her off-duty wardrobe—but this week she did so with a much friendlier price tag. Witherspoon opted for a $29.99 Liz Lange for Target maternity dress for a casual family dinner in California with husband Jim Toth and kids Ava and Deacon in tow. The sleek jersey dress featured curve-flattering ruching and a sexy-but-appropriate hemline. She accessorized the look with matching black flat sandals, a pair of classic gold hoop earrings, and low-maintenance hair. Jeans? Pass. Glamour? Yes, please. That seems to be the motto for designers Mark Badgley and James Mischka, the men behind legendary line and red carpet staple Badgley Mischka. I got to speak to them before their spring 2013 Ready-to-Wear line and ready-to-wear-it I am. OK, so maybe I don't have anywhere to wear a floor-sweeping, fluttering, coral pink tulle and sequined gown, per se. But, like I overheard some of the backstage staff say, I'd gladly wear these gorgeous evening gowns and separates around the house.
