As far as patterns go, camouflage doesn't have as innocent a history as, say, polka dots or houndstooth. It was originally worn by the military as a way to blend in to natural surroundings, aka to avoid getting shot at. Despite its serious connotations, camo was quickly adopted by the fashion industry and right now it's particularly hot. Just about every trend-focused celeb has been seen sporting the pattern recently, from the Biebs to Our Girl Carly Rae Jepsen. Camo's a toughened-up alternative to floral, with the same flexibility-meaning it goes with lots of colors and even mixes up nicely with other patterns like stripes or dots. Read on for five pop-star-approved ways to rock the look.

Taylor Swift Election DayIs there any artist in pop music harder to pin down politically than Taylor Swift? In a world where Lady Gaga stumps for gay marriage and Jay-Z parties with the President, Swift maintains a prim inoffensiveness, always careful to stay within the bounds of acceptability for both the country fans at Wal-Mart and the latte-sippers in Starbucks. As Swift told NPR, "I don't have enough wisdom about myself as a person yet to go out there and say…'Vote for this person.'"
In that same NPR interview, Swift revealed that she is definitely voting in this election, and that she has no plans to reveal whether she's leaning left or right. That doesn't mean that we can't speculate, though. Looking at demographics, philanthropy and the messages in her lyrics, it's time to figure out once and for all who Taylor Swift is voting for.
DEMOGRAPHICS
If, as they say, demography is destiny, then it should be fairly easy to get a handle on who Taylor Swift supports: Just look at the preferences

But many of our most eloquent artists have stumbled when they enter the political arena, where words and standards are more strictly enforced.
To celebrate the madness that happens when pop stars go political, we've rounded up a list of the misinformed, inelegant or just plain stupid things musicians have said when they're trying to make a point.

Unlike other pop stars her age, Taylor Swift has developed a pretty flawless signature style. You never see 22-year-old Swifty dashing out in see-through tops or emerging from limos pants-less. Instead, she has a carefully cultivated, ladylike look and its linchpin is a pretty, flirty dress-often in the singer's favorite shade, red. In honor of the official release of Taylor's fourth album, Red, here are 16 of her most gorgeous cherry-hued dresses. They range from long to short, from lacy to sparkly, from sleek shifts to retro-feeling and polka-dotted. What they all have in common, aside from a color family-they all make Taylor look really, really beautiful.
