The ugly Christmas sweater party is one of the weirdest trends of the holiday season. In 2001, Jordan Birch and Chris Boyd threw the first official party in Vancouver, Canada. Their hope was to have the "cheesiest, most feel-good Christmas party ever." When photos from the event went viral, people starting throwing their own parties, encouraging friends to find the ugliest sweaters possible. Now, the parties are more popular than ever. A new treatment involving ovarian tissue transplant may be another option for women struggling with infertility. A new fertility treatment may give women the ability to conceive later in life, restarting ovulation, even after chemotherapy.
The treatment, developed in Israel, involves freezing ovarian tissue from women whose ovary function is impaired due to age or cancer treatments and later implanting the frozen tissue back into the patient to restart ovulation. Last week in Melbourne, Australia, it resulted in its first successful pregnancy.
Dr. Gab Kovacs removed a portion of a patient's ovarian tissue and froze it before she had breast cancer in 2005. The frozen tissue was implanted into the patient, now 43. She was able to conceive and is now six weeks pregnant, Western Australia Today reported.

Sonya YuSick and tired of a burglar stealing packages from homes in her neighborhood, a San Francisco woman took matters into her own hands on Tuesday, according to the Daily Mail.
Luring the thief with a dummy package, Sonya Yu sprayed him with bear repellent and threatened him with a wooden sword, chasing him away. Minutes later, the alleged burglar, Andy Anduha, 51, was apprehended by law enforcement.
