Priyanka Chopra has been tapped as the new Guess Girl, a modeling gig that until now, has never been filled by an Indian woman, according to a story published Monday in Women’s Wear Daily.
"I’m like their first brown model,” Chopra told the publication, adding: “For a global fashion brand, for them to move their campaign into a global space, for me it's an honor." The campaign, a series of black-and-white photos shot by photographer Bryan Adams, show Chopra lounging in a Mediterranean villa and will debut in the December issues of Harper’s Bazaar, Nylon, Elle, and The Wall Street Journal, among others.
Scoring Chopra is a huge coup for Guess, which has largely relied on the blond bombshell ideal: Tousled platinum hair, blue eyes, pouty lips, and overflowing cleavage. Past Guess Girls have included Claudia Schiffer, Anna Nicole Smith, Kate Upton, and Paris Hilton, among others.
And while you may not know much about the 30-year-old

There are plenty of not-so-fun aspects of pregnancy: Morning sickness, swollen feet, weight gain. And then there's the dreaded "tummy rub," a common gesture from a well-meaning friend, family member, or co-worker who just can’t resist rubbing the woman's stomach. One expectant mother in Pennsylvania is standing up to unwanted rubs by charging a man with harassment after he touched her stomach without consent.Read More »from Pregnant Woman Files Charges Over Belly Rubbing

A representative from the Pennsylvania State Police tells Yahoo Shine that earlier this month, 57-year-old Richard J. Beishline visited his neighbor, a 30-year-old pregnant woman named Michelle Troutman in Frankfort, Pennsylvania. According to the police report, after giving Troutman a hug, Beishline said, “I just want to be friends” and rubbed her stomach. Troutman pushed him away, and he quickly left. She has since filed harassment charges against Beishline, and if he pleads guilty, he’ll pay a fine determined by a

Contact lenses are available in various colors and patterns, including Hello Kitty, cat eyes, and even blood. In 2011, Lady Gaga made headlines for her doll-like “circle contacts,” colored lenses that make the irises appear larger than normal. There’s nothing intrinsically wrong with colored lenses (when prescribed by eye doctors, they're safe); however, they’re considered a medical device regulated by the FDA. Not only are salons, Halloween stores, and street venders that sell them without a prescription, not only breaking the law, but also people who wear them risk impairing their vision.

Another image shows Queen Elizabeth, Prince Charles, Prince William, and Prince George, sitting together. “That photo is a big deal — it's the first time since 1894 that a reigning British monarch is photographed with three generations of heirs,” royal expert Victoria Arbiter tells Yahoo Shine. The first image was taken during the christening of the future Edward VIII and included Queen Victoria, her son Edward VII, her grandson George V, and her great-grandson Edward VIII. The official christening photographs of 3-month-old Prince George, heir to the British throne, have been released. Shot by photographer Jason Bell at the Clarence House following the service, one photo features Prince George wearing a handmade replica of the royal christening robe, Kate Middleton clad in a cream-colored dress by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen, and Prince William in a navy-blue suit. On Tuesday, postal worker Darrian Crutcher, 48, was making the rounds on his usual 10:30 a.m. route, when he noticed smoke billowing from the upstairs window of a home on Stansbury Street. “There was a young girl, around 12 years old, sitting on the front steps crying,” Crutcher tells Yahoo Shine. “She said her mother was inside the house, so I called 911." The dispatcher told Crutcher to make sure everyone was out of the home—and without a thought to his own safety, he walked inside and found the homeowner, Carolyn Patterson. “She was standing in the living room panicking, so I asked if she had a hose,” he says.

Hard to believe it's been 25 years since the ABC hit television show Roseanne debuted on October 18th, 1988 (don't you feel old?). The show centered on the Connors, a working-class family of five that loved tie-dye, flannel, and most importantly, each other. As a family, they coped with the hard stuff - teen sex, obesity, masturbation, poverty, alcoholism - with humor and tough love, and taught us a few things about life, in the process. -By Elise Sole
