    • 5 Flattering Jeans: Show Off Your Assets

If you haven't already heard the news, plump backsides are the hot trend for 2010. Yes, I'm talking about big bums. According to an article in the NY Daily News yesterday, thanks to bootylicious stars like Kim Kardashian, Jennifer Lopez and Serena Williams, an ample derriere may be your biggest fashion…uhm, asset…this season.

I personally love the fact that women with curves are being embraced but the truth is most women gripe about their butts. I've heard it all - from having a "pancake" butt that's too flat to having a "bubble" butt that's too round. I find this particularly true after pregnancy, because gaining and losing weight in a relatively short period of time doesn't seem to leave you with a perky backside. (Thanks, gravity.)

If you want to show off your curves and enhance your booty, one of the easiest ways is with a great pair of jeans.

Burgers on the grill. Cold beer. Sun hats, swim diapers and sunscreen. Lazy days by the pool. (Or if you have youngsters like me, exhausting hours chasing your wild toddlers around the pool.) Ready or not, summer is almost in full swing.

I remember when I was a kid, one of the best parts about summertime was the 4th of July. We had a big family picnic and always got to see a stunning firework display. We also got to wear outrageously tacky red, white and blue outfits. Why? Because back in those days the tackier you looked, the more patriotic you appeared! When I was in college, the most patriotic attire one could wear was an American flag bikini. Times have changed and might I add, whew.

Take a look at these five goodies and capture the spirit of the 4th of July in sensational style. This is the Liberty Romper for baby girls!

    • Today was one of those days. I had lots of work to do and while I was on an important call with a fabulous Betty, I heard an odd noise. It was a bag of Skittles being dumped on the floor. My son was trying to sneak a few and accidentally poured them out. My initial reaction was slowed by my second reaction, which was slowed by my third reaction, which leads me to this…The Skittles Quiz….

      1. You're on the phone and your child accidentally dumps a bag of Skittles on the floor. What do you do?

a.) Stop what you're doing and immediately tend to the mess, throwing the now compromised Skittles in the trash.
b.) Scowl at your child and ignore the mess, knowing it won't be going anywhere in the next 20 minutes.
c.) Skittles? Why would I ever have them in my home? They contain carbs!?!

      2. You're feeding your cats and you notice a lone Skittle hiding behind the cat's water bowl. What do you do?

a.) Brush it off and eat it quickly so your kids won't see you do it or

    • If you haven't picked up your new US Weekly magazine yet, shame on you! The cover story is about Sandra Bullock and her new role as a mom. Sandra popped into Austin, TX, last week and did some shopping for her sweet (and big) baby, Louis.

So where did she shop? Sandra stopped by one of the cutest, most unique baby boutiques in town, Izzy and Ash. As an Austinite, I've been there before and it is a wonderland of adorable baby clothes, kid's clothes, toys and accessories. She bought this tee in vintage black, Chaser Tees Peace American Flag. It retails for $25 at Izzy and Ash.

The owner of the store, Jennifer Mazuelos, was thrilled to see Sandra and baby Louis there. It was actually wet and stormy that day, so when Sandra, her friend and a bodyguard walked it, the store was empty. Jennifer said Sandra was such a natural with Louis - she was an "easygoing and chill" mom. Of course she was! It's fun to see the items she bought because they really do seem to reflect Sandra's stylish,

    • If you' haven't heard, there are many scary stories in the news right now about unfortunate incidents where unsavory folks used Craigslist to commit crimes. In one story, two men used Craigslist to rape a woman in Wyoming. In another story, robbers showed up at a family's home a folks pretending to buy a diamond ring. The robbers physically assaulted the child in the home, so the father tried to protect him and was fatally shot. The 911 calls will send chills up your spine. It's horribly sad.

Obviously, people who want to commit crimes will do so with any tools they can find, so I'm not blaming Craigslist. I am wondering if it has changed the way YOU shop or sell on Craigslist? I know lots of parents buy and sell baby items online and I'm just curious if you're doing it differently. Has it scared you away from selling items online? Are you being safer? Have you exchanged email with someone about an item for sale and something in the conversation made you feel uncomfortable?

      It has

    • Tired of Selling Baby Stuff on Craigslist? Hello Adbirds!

Like most moms, I've been a big fan of Craigslist for many years. Yet sometimes there are things about Senior Craig that I don't like. Let's say I'm trying to sell a baby stroller. By the time I get my ad posted, 20 more stroller are already ahead of mine in about 24 hours. Not to mention, I'm not a huge fan of how the ads look and the time it takes to create them. Don't get me started on the shady personals. Ewww.

I've heard friends talk about Adbirds which is like Craigslist, but it has many more capabilities. I checked it out today and I'm hooked! I created a few free ads and it was such a breeze. The interface is fast, easy and sophisticated. You can add lots of pictures, links, video clips - whatever you want - and it's seriously simple. As a mommy, I appreciate the ability to do stuff online as quickly as possible. I'll have to be changing a diaper, reading a story or wiping crayons off the walls any minute.

I'm going to do more research on Adbirds to figure out all of

    • Liveblogging Project Runway: The Final Auf

First of all, when I tuned in to the finale of Project Runway on our big HDTV, the Lifetime channel (26 in Austin) is NOT WORKING. Black, blank screen. What the freak? I run upstairs and start watching it on the tiny television in my kid's playroom. Super crapola. Here's a play-by-play of the show. It's semi-liveblogging.

-I tuned in as they were working out some makeup details with Collier Strong and let me say the "dark eye" is just fabulous. I wish I had the courage to wear that look. I applaud Mila for choosing that look because it's stunning up close and from a distance.

      - Emilio is freaking out because he's missing models or a model. Whatever. He's such a priss.

      - Watching a commercial for Sex and the City 2 and wondering why they would ever write a camel into the plot. Seems odd. I'm sure I'll have to watch the movie to find out. I'm a marketers dream!

      - The models are lined up and Seth Aaron says he's "amped" and for good reason.

      - Heidi welcomes the

    • Therapy Schmerapy: Why Go When You're Getting Along?

Like most people, I've been to a therapist at various times in my life. Looking back, I'd say it was when my life was just too overwhelming and I was having trouble figuring it all out. Besides, sometimes it's just easier to talk about your problems to total strangers than sharing with friends & family members who know you too well -- or think they do.

I saw one of my friends last night and we started talking about therapy. To make a long story short, we both agreed it's hard to go when life is moving along with minimal problems. Why stir up negative feelings or touchy subjects when nobody's mad or upset? This makes me wonder if people go to therapy regularly when everything is peachy keen. Do you find yourself canceling appointments until a big blowout (mental or otherwise) occurs?

I would think therapy is like exercise -- you need a little bit all of the time to stay fit. If you only exercise after you pig out on meatball sandwiches one weekend, is it really helpful? When it comes
