There is nothing like rocking a new hairdo! It's amazing how a great hairstyle can change your whole swagger and if I had the time (and money) I would probably change my hair up all the time! Truth is I'm lucky to have time to breathe many days and I haven't hit lotto yet so I have to look for the n

Other than the occasional break out, one skin problem of mine that always irked me is my oily nose! The rest of my face is well-behaved 99% of the time, but my nose (and all of its oversized pores!) can be a major oil factory! With all of this hot weather, it only gets worse so I headed over to my neighborhood Walgreens to look for a mask that I could use a few times a week to tame the oiliness as much as possible. What I walked out with was Clear Pore Cleanser/Mask from Neutrogena ($7.99).
Clear Pore can be used two ways: as a daily cleanser to kill everyday bacteria or a mask for deep cleaning and extra oil control. I thought that was pretty cool because although I was more interested in using it as a mask, my husband could use it as a cleanser (and who doesn't like a multi-use products!).
Following the instructions, I applied a thin layer of clear pore on my face and left it on there for about 5 minutes. The thick, cool cream dries fast and you can feel it
Hope you ladies had a fabulous Memorial Day weekend and not having a hard a time as me getting back into the groove of things! Something that is definitely sure to lift your spirits from the back-to-work blues is an awesome fragrance - and I got one for you!
The latest smell good up for a Fierce review is Eternal Magic from Avon that is backed by none other than Zoe Saldana. "I'm very proud to be working with Avon and to be the face of Eternal Magic. It means so much to me to be associated with a company that shares my values and believes in empowering women," Saldana says. (I totally loved her in Avatar and Star Trek by the way!)
Riding on the theme of a mystical fantasy, the fragrance comes in an oddly shaped oval bottle with a cool and unconventional clear cap. This purple fragrance has notes of Sheer Violet, Princess Monaco Rose, and Creamy Vanilla Warmth. Does it smell as good as it sounds?
Absolutely! Its scent is a mixture of floral and woodsy

I love trying out new things, especially when it comes to hair and my Shine Beauty Beauty Guru assignment for this month has given me the perfect excuse to do so! Though I like to be hair adventurous, I have to be careful of what I do to it as to not cause any serious damage to it that I might regre

On my many trips to my drugstore of choice, (Walgreens!), I was shopping for items that I needed and yet I always find myself checking out the cosmetics aisle! I always gravitate towards the eyeshadows because as we all know - you can never have enough! In particular, I was looking for a color palette because the manufacturers do all of the color pairing work for you!
What did I walk away with? Wet-n-Wild Color Icon Eye Shadow in Pride (shown above). This color collection gives you three complimentary shades in a matte finish and a highly pigmented effect. That's cool for me because I have a day and night look all in the same palette and the combos are endless! The colors are deep so you don't need a whole lot. The only drawback is the color can fade after awhile, so I definitely suggest using a eye primer to solve that problem! The price can't be beat either ($4.99 at Walgreens) and that definitely gets brownie points with me!
So how did I rock this eyeshadow
Memorial Day weekend is coming up quick and it's the official way to bring in the summer! As the weather gets hotter and the sun gets stronger, I break out my beauty and fashion summer stuff that will get me through the summer in one fashionable and beautiful piece!
Here are my summer must-haves:
Banana Boat Sunscreen Lotion
Contrary to what you may think, we ladies with dark skin are just as prone to sun burn as the next girl and a few summers ago, I learned the hard way! Peeling skin is not a good look so I make sure I have my sunscreen lotion on, especially when I'm laying out on the beach!
Yes I was one of those people at Old Navy at the crack of dawn last Saturday for their $1 flip flop sale! I own at least 7 pairs so far and there are colors that I'm still missing! I love matching my flip flops with my gazillion tank tops, cover-ups, and of course, my bathing suit. Keeps my feet looking cute and allowing them to breathe atRead More »from What Are Your Summer Essentials?

If you are a familiar with the cable bracelet, then you know David Yurman. What you may not know is that he also has a bath and body fragrance collection and the newest addition is the Luxurious Dusting Powder. This body powder is scented with patchouli and floral fragrances and leaves behind a subtle gold shimmer. It comes in a large glass jar with an easy, twistable gold colored cover, trimmed in Yurman's classic cable design.
I tested out this new powder and it smells nice. It's not overbearing but rather gives you fresh scent with just a hint of a flora l scent. The faint gold shimmer is kind of cute too, especially in the summer time when you tend to bare more skin than usual. The jar and gold cover are quite lovely and definitely add to the luxuriousness of the product.
If you love to splurge on beauty products and crazy about body powders, this is a good look!

It's almost summer time ladies and that means making sure we amp up our hair care routines! Between the hot sun, chlorine, salt water, and just plain sweat, our hair takes a beating during this season. That's why its ultra important to keep it protected. But, as we all know, time can get the best of us and if a product can perform double (or in this case, triple) duty, we are all for it!
This brings me to the latest beauty product review: Threesome Tonic and Luster Tonic from the Tonic collection. The collection was created for those who love to spend their time outdoors and don't have time to use multiple products. Lets see how these two beauty multi-taskers did in my review!
A cream-to-mist formula whose key ingredients are aloe leaf, silk protein, and wheat proteins aims to protect hair from the damaging elements of summer fun as well as rehydrate skin. The very first thing I loved about this wasRead More »from Beauty Multi-taskers: A Review of Luster Tonic and Threesome Tonic
I first want to say thank you to my ladies who checked out my first two wedding recaps ( hair and makeup). I'm still all smiles from my big day and I can't stress enough how much fun my guests, my husband, and I had! It was definitely worth the year and a half of excitement, stress, and borderline breakdowns!
Without further a due, here we go with my dresses!
My Bridal Party
My bridesmaids and maid of honor wore pool blue dresses from David's Bridal and their own silver sandals. This style was on its way out so my girls were able to get it at almost a steal! (was originally $155, went on clearance for $89). I loved the fact that they came at the knee in the front and had a little train in the back. The chiffon dresses where very light and airy, which was perfect for an outdoor wedding. My sister, the maid of honor, distinguished herself from the bunch by wearing straps on her dress and a different colored hair flower. My matron of honor rocked a oneRead More »from User post: My Wedding Recap: The Dresses
While I was away in Disney World on my honeymoon last month, I was confronted with a little hair dilemma. I wanted something to keep my hair from flying in my face when riding all of those awesome rides and look cute in my photos. So my husband and I hit up my favorite drugstore, Walgreens, and I found the perfect thing - The scunci Flexible Scarfband ($5.99). The head band can be worn three ways: With the scarf interlooped in the plastic headband, the scarf alone, or the head band alone. It gave a girl great options on rocking it during my trip. It was also super comfy with the help of two elastic bands in the back. It also kept itself as well as my hair in place. Now I'm not the biggest head band fan, but this one is definitely my new hair accessory BFF!
