    • Beauty Guru Post: A Super Easy Way to do a Smoky Eye

Smokey eyes are one of my favorite makeup looks. They're gorgeous, sultry, and....... can be pretty darn complicated to do! I've looked up a gazillion tutorials and even though the eye kits does make it simpler, it can also be a little much for our beauty budgets. So I've come up with a super simple way of getting that same look without breaking the bank. I've doing this method for awhile now and I have to say it's a hit everytime!

The trick to this look is a simple layering of three shades of the same color. I've done this makeup look with blues, purples, and even greens . For this tutorial I used a light grey, dark grey, and black from the Pin Up POP palette.

      2. Take the second lightest color and apply from the middle of the lid to the crease. You can use your ring finger to blend.

    • Beauty Guru Post: What Beauty Products Are You Using This Summer? (Here are Mine!)

Summer here in the land of the Palm Beaches mean a lot of sun, 200% humidity, and above 90 degree temperatures! As much as I love the summer and all the fun it brings, trying to look like a human being becomes a challenge, especially when it comes to my beauty look. It's very easy for your makeup to literally melt off your face. Before the temps started to rise I spent a lot of time playing with eyeshadows , wearing at least two colors at a time before stepping out for the day. Now it's a different story! I'm embracing the mantra of less is more and I've settled into a routine that not only holds up in the heat but seems to be on trend too!

Usually I would use my trusty Covergirl Clean Powder on my T-zone to help keep the shiny affect off of my face. But it's too hot for layering on powder so instead I started using the Shine Stopper from one of my favorite makeup experts Paula Begoun. It's a cream that you apply after your moisturizer and before your

Bliss Spa MaskBliss Spa MaskRemember that facial I told you ladies about last week that I received at the Bliss Spa? Well I wish I had the time (and the funds!) to get a facial all the time but giving myself a bit of pampering at home is just as good! And it looks like the folks at the Bliss Spa had the same idea because they have something for people like me to take a little bit of the Triple Oxygen Facial home with us. That my friends is the Triple Oxygen Instant Energizing Mask ($52) i.e the really fun foamy stuff they put on my face towards the end of my treatment. Specially formulated to act as a stand in for the facial , it has a ton of Vitamin C and grapeseed extracts that aim to hydrate and revitalize dull and tired skin as well as prevent future breakouts.

I've actually been using this mask for a few weeks now, especially on those mornings when I'm feeling extra sleepy and need a quick pick me up. Right after cleansing I apply the pink colored cream all over my face. It smells fantastic, which

    • Smooth Summer Skin With The Venus Proskin Moisture Rich Razor

Summer has officially started and hot weather means baring more skin that usual! We want to make sure it's looking its best and that has been the theme so far with our Shine Beauty Guru assignments. Last month we all reviewed a body wash that promises to give you soft smooth skin. This month is taking that idea of smooth skin a step further with the Venus Proskin Moisture Rich Razor . With three blades to ensure a close shave and two moisture rich shave gel bars to keep your skin happily protected, Venus claims to deliver radiant without nicks, irritation, and dryness that many women suffer from after shaving. The package comes with the razor, two replacement cartridges, and a cute little shower holder that can be hung in your shower.

Now I'll be honest with you ladies, I have really, really good genes because I've never had to really shave my legs or underarms. So it isn't very often I do that, so trying this razor out was a rather new experience to me! It was great to

      Men's Tie129_1392

There are times in a writer's life that we get so amped up about something we read that if don't get it out we go nuts. Well today was such a day for me so I apologize for my ranting.

Yesterday morning while reading through my Google feeds, I came across Suze's blog post on Refinery tweeting about plus size ladies size 10 and over having their own site. Talk about craziness! I thought it was absurd to consider a 10 plus size, especially considering that the average woman these days are a size 12. I know awhile ago I ranted about the availability of sizes for women like me who are 14+ (I wear a 16 by the way). Despite the fact that there are a lot of us who fit that category, we still don't feel represented in main stream like we should. I thought about adding my two cent to that in my own post but I said, "Nah". I left my comment and I was good. Then that afternoon while going through Twitter, Stephanie from Loudmouth retweeted this blog post from Gala Darling called

    • Avon Provides Relief to Those Affected By The Season's Deadly Tornados

Avon Cares Disaster Relief ProgramAvon Cares Disaster Relief Program

If you've been keeping up with the news you know that recently our country has been getting slammed with crazy storms, floods, and tornadoes. Having personally gone through three major hurricanes and a tornado I am very familiar with the devastation it can cause and how many lives it can affect. It's during times like this that people need to get together and help those affected and I was happy to know that Avon was doing that very thing. Since May 20, Avon Cares has launched a disaster relief program to help those affected by the tornados that wrecked havock on our Southern states. Their 17 foot mobile vehicles have been driving through these areas distributing much needed products to families and communities.

"Disaster relief has long been a critical component of Avon's philanthropy," said Jorge Martinez-Quiroga, Avon's Senior Vice President & President ofNorth America. "We believe it is our responsibility as a global corporate citizen to lend our support to

    • Beauty Guru Post: My First Facial at the Bliss Spa

Bliss SpaBliss SpaIf you've been keeping up with me, when it comes to my spa trips I'm normally getting some kind of body treatment. I've had a bamboo massage, a milk and honey massage, a Blissage and a Baborganic Body Treatment, but I have never had a facial. The only thing extra I've done is a mask or a little microderm abrasion treatment at home but nothing else! So I was really looking forward to the opportunityon Saturday to return to the Bliss Spa on Fort Lauderdale for The Triple Oxygen Treatment (75 minutes/$160), their most popular facial that promises to literally give your complexion a reviving breath of fresh air.

After talking with Maria, the lady who was going to do my facial, about what type of skin I have and what my trouble spots were we got started. We first started off with a skin-type specific peel, which felt very, very tingly! It was a bit uncomfortable but I was confident in knowing that this stuff was really getting into my pores. Besides, it smelled really good so that

Is it me or doesn't it feel like yesterday when I was swooning over Spring Trends?? LOL. Summer is officially here and the rising temps down here lets me know that everyday! Despite it being a gazillion degrees outside, I still suffer from the same problem I had earlier in the year - dry skin. My nose is really good at producing extra oil but the rest of my skin can dry out so easily, especially with all the swimming I like to do this time of year. That's why I've always been a body wash kinda girl because I find that bar soap just doesn't moisturize well enough for me. As for lotion, I'm always going for those that cater to dry skin and doesn't have too strong of a scent (I don't want it to compete with my perfume!). Keeping all that in mind, I was kinda psyched to review SheaMoisture Raw Shea Butter skincare products.

My husband was the first one to put me on to shea butter, especially in its raw form. He keeps a tub of it and recommends it for everything - from treating a dry scalp to skin dryness and irritation. I had the opportunity to try out their Raw
