Kate Winslet premieres Mildred Pierce in Stella McCartneyKate Winslet is one of the few actresses in Hollywood who refuses to conform to the industry's sometimes warped standard of beauty. Whether it's maintaining a healthy weight and size or making a pact to say no to plastic surgery, the actress has always stood firm on her beliefs. Her personal style also seems to reflect her no-nonsense attitude. She usually sports black, and very simple cuts, which actually suit her quite well. It is nice however to see her take a risk on the carpet and over the past few months, it seems her affinity for Stella McCartney designs have allowed her to do just that. From her edgy polka dot number, to this color block dress which creates an edgy optical illusion of an hour glass shape, the actress gets an A for trying something new. By Rue de Chic | Fashion – Thu, Sep 8, 2011 8:00 PM EDTIf there's one must-have item for the upcoming fall and winter months, it's a leather piece. The leather movement is going strong and from what we saw during the Fall 2011 presentations at New York Fashion Week, it has no intention of slowing down. From 3.1 Phillip Lim to Alexander Wang, Derek Lam, Calvin Klein and Ralph Lauren, leather made a huge splash. It came in pants, shift dresses, skirts, pastel colors, rich dark colors and boy was it fabulous.
The beautiful thing about leather is that it never actually goes out of style, it just keeps being reinvented. The leather of today is definitely not your grandmother's leather, it's soft, flexible and versatile. You can dress it up or dress it down, pair it with your favorite jeans or a fitted feminine dress to add a little edge.
Leather has also gained momentum with a ton of stylish stars. Celebrities like Halle Berry, Jennifer Aniston, Sarah Jessica Parker and Blake Lively

Kate Bosworth looked refreshingly elegant in ValentinoSometimes, being simple is all you need to be chic. Case in point, Kate Bosworth's Valentino LBD which she sported at the Deauville Film Festival. While many stars were premiering at the Venice Film Festival, Kate was in Deauville promoting her film, Another Happy Day. With a sheer top showing just a hint of skin, a stylish bow and a flared skirt, Kate's Valentino number was definitely a winner. First up: Floral Elie Saab
Sarah Jessica Parker in a floral print Elie Saab gown
The floral print has no doubt been the most frequented print on the carpet this past spring and summer. It also looks like this print is sticking around for fall as it was spotted on the Fall 2011 Runways. Ever the chic star, Sarah Jessica Parker seems to be a fan of the print as well. She recently sported this floral print Elie Saab gown from the Fall 2011 show. Below is the look straight from the Paris runway. The print, in this particular assortment of muted colors has the potential to look dowdy but SJP certainly looks like she's having fun with it. I have to say her energy brings the dress to life and as great as it looks on the runway, it looks even better out in the real world (If we can call Hollywood the real world).
