.Ever wonder how much your identity is wrapped up in your hair color? Whether you're a blonde for life or love rocking your red, the shade of your locks can affect your mood and how others perceive you - and not necessarily in the ways that you think.

"Blonde hair is lighter, so when women have light hair and they walk into a room, people are going to look at them." The problem is, blondes can get more used to that attention than they realize - and blondes may miss that attention if they decide to try lowlights. Says Ionato, "Women with blonde hair that go darker may experience a bit of an identity crisis, because they don't feel that they stand out as much. They miss that

David StesnerIt's awkward enough to call a manicurist out on a bad paint job, but imagine doing that for a botched bikini wax. Pantsless and prone is not exactly the ideal recipe for getting up the gumption to say, "You're not doing this right!" But at the same time, it's the service where you have the biggest need to speak up if something's not right--so it's vital to know what's normal pain (let's face it, this is no hot stone massage) and what crosses the line.

I started thinking about all this when my friend, we'll call her Jen, told me about her recent Brazilian wax. It was so painful, she stopped the aesthetician and asked what was going on.The waxer's reply was something along the lines of, "Waxing hurts. Don't be a baby." And so, even though Jen was no wax virgin and knew it wasn't supposed to hurt this badly, she sucked it up for the sake of politeness. She was left with bruises, scabbingby Petra Guglielmetti

I can't help it: I always swoon over a retro, beehive-y updo. And when you go and add modern colorful eye makeup, like Dianna Agron did last night, I actually begin to experience lightheadedness. The juxtaposition is just so perfect, and so pretty, I almost can't take it.

Digital Studio, Venturelli/WireImageEva Longoria brought the drama to the Cannes premiere of Le Passe by complementing her elegant Zuhair Murad number with an equally elegant cat eye. To create the look, Longoria's makeup artist contoured her eyes using L'Oreal's Colour Riche Quad in Army Brat ($8; lorealparisusa.com) and finished with a thick sweep of L'Oreal's Voluminous Smoldering Eyeliner in black ($9; lorealparisusa.com). Getting the precise shape can be tricky, so we recommend looking down into your mirror as you apply the product. This helps you get the color as close to your lashes as possible, eliminating the risk of any telltale eyeliner gaps. Finally, use an angled cotton swab to bring the winged-out edges to a point.

"This year, OPI is exploring a different side of Minnie Mouse," said the brand's Executive VP and Artistic Director Suzi Weiss-Fischmann.
