Lip color can be gorgeous, but lots of women avoid it because of how it can wear. Without reapplication, it's easy to end up with a ring of color at the edge of your lips and almost none in the center. But it doesn't have to be that way. The culprit? Conventional wisdom about how you're supposed to line lips and apply lipstick. To see the easy way to make your lip color, whether it's gloss or lipstick, look more natural and wear better, just keep reading.
Here's the thing: starting from the outside of your lips in, the way you're "supposed" to, actually doesn't work if you're trying to get even, daylong wear. It's one of those pieces of advice that's a lot better backstage than it is on the street. Instead, start from the very center of your lips and brush the color outward.
Don't even worry about getting all the way to the edges. Just rub your lips together well when you're finished, and the color will distributeRead More »from The Easy Tip that Ends Awkward Lipstick Fade Forever

Leave it to the lash-obsessed people at Talika to formulate a makeup remover that's supposed to "feed" your fringes. Their new Lash Conditioning cleanser ($24) is an impressive blue gel that handily removes any mascara, even the waterproof variety. The directions suggest you pump cleanser onto a cotton pad and then swipe it across your lashes, but it's actually more effective to soak a square of toilet paper in the stuff and do it that way. You also don't have to rinse afterward, although doing a little clean up around your eyes certainly isn't a bad idea. We can't speak to whether it really makes lashes stronger, but it definitely does make them feel soft and healthy in a way most drying, alcohol-based makeup removers don't.

love your hair app
On December 1, 2011, I headed over to the posh Hair Rules Salon in NYC for House of Mikko's I Love Your Hair App Party. Celeb hairstylist Dickey (Michelle Obama, Alicia Keys, and Estelle, anyone?), was also in attendance to show off her amazing skills and give a few lucky ladies the makeover of a lifetime.
Besides practically drooling over dozens of très chic hairstyles, sipping on delish cocktails, and enjoying a few cool beats, I got the deets on a brand new app (out now) for you lucky iPhone users.
The I Love Your Hair app is an amazing tool for the gals out there planning to transform their tresses…or even just spice up their standard cut and style. The app allows users to post photos of their haute hairstyles and get a dose of major inspiration from pictures uploaded by other hair aficionados.

From toothpaste to tretinoin, we've tried it all. Here, the country's top dermatologists weigh in on what really works to get a flawless complexion.
I confess: I have canceled plans because of acne-occasionally even because of one lone pimple (usually a vexing shade of eye-catching scarlet and raised enough to cast its own shadow, but still). And I am not alone in my overreaction. Something about acne manages to drive the sanest among us to extreme measures. Even with a universe of products available nowadays to address it, we still turn to a cocktail of homegrown remedies and self-surgery to try to eradicate it-such as the fashion editor friend of mine who uses Monistat cream (yes, the yeast-infection treatment) as a weekly face mask, or the street-style darling I know who admits she spot-treats with Pepto-Bismol. But why raid other drugstore aisles when there's a whole row specifically dedicated to acne?
Because we're desperate. "The conventional acne treatment forRead More »from Best Blemish Busters: What Really Works for Clear Skin

Or do your hands look like this, with too many hangnails to count, a jagged edge on the pinky nail, and skin that looks (and feels) like sandpaper?
In the raggedy hand camp with me? It's time for a change, because your hands say a lot about you -- everything from how old you are, to how good you are in bed. And I don't know about you, but I'd rather my hands not proclaim, "This woman is old, lazy, and bad in the sack."
That's why I just bought these hand and nail products that work instantly. They promise to give me softer hands, chip-free polish, and a life free from hangnails. Sound too good to be true? Check out these reader reviews and tell us: What are your hands saying about you?

Real Beauty: Did you always whiten your teeth?
Whitney Port: Once I got a bit older, my teeth yellowed, and I started appearing on television. So I realized it was something I should do. I never thought about doing it professionally, because it can look too fake.
RB: Why do you like Crest 3D White 2-Hour Express Whitestrips?
WP: The product is a two-hour express whitener. You put it on, it doesn't move around, and you can do what you need to do. When you take it off, your teeth are amazingly white. My dad even notices it, so that's how I know it works.
RB: What is your go-to holiday gift to give?
