For the products I'm using that are laced with drying stuff like benzoyl peroxide and Retin-A, he has me create what he calls a "moisturizer sandwich." This means I put on a layer of moisturizer, then the product, then another layer of moisturizer. The idea is that the first layer creates a barrier to protect my skin, and the last keeps it from taking all the moisture away.
