Planning every little detail of your wedding is stressful. Luckily, we're here to help! These tricks and truths will keep you looking great from ceremony to reception and beyond. Not the bride? We've got you covered too.
1. Banish Pre-Wedding JittersTake a moment before your nuptials to relax (you'll need it!). The ninety minutes of spa time will remedy any bridezilla-like tendencies.
2. So Long to Salt
Excess sodium in your diet can suck the moisture out of skin leaving it dry and dull. Until you walk down the aisle, cut back on salty treats and invest in a hydrating facial moisturizer.
3. Get Glowing
If you're going to get a spray tan, make sure to take it for a spin two days before the wedding. That way, it'll have time to settle into your skin and won't come off on your dress. Our favorite spot is Completely Bare.
4. Wear Sunscreen
If you're having an outdoor wedding, slather on the sunblock. The last thing you need is to look like a lobster

Make sure you follow these sunscreen rules. Not an avid sunscreen wearer? Maybe you should think about changing your skin-protecting ways.

According to the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD), melanoma is the deadliest form of skin cancer and the most common cancer for 25- to 29-year-olds. And since May is melanoma month, we thought it was fitting to raise awareness of this deadly disease (and prevent getting burned) by asking Debra Jaliman, M.D., a cosmetic dermatologist in NYC and author of Skin Rules: Trade Secrets from a Top New York Dermatologist, for her thoughts on the six sunscreen mistakes (c/o La Roche-Posay) you could be making without even knowing it:
1. You think you're exempt from sunscreen because you have dark or olive skin. "Even with dark skin you can burn and get sun damage. People with blue eyes and fair skin tones are more prone to skin cancer, but we're all susceptible to it. No matter what skin color you are, you're not exempt from skin cancer or from using sunscreen."

The beauty brand just announced that it will release a full cosmetics collection inspired by the trilogy in November, just in time for the release of the new installment, Catching Fire. We can't wait to see the rainbow of dramatic hues that are sure to come thanks to the eccentric characters in the book, like Effie Trinket and her Capitol compadres. Gregory Pace / BEI Images; FameFlynet Pictures; Josiah Kamau/BuzzFoto/FilmMagic; John Limparski/WireImageJust when we thought auburn was the must-have hue this season, celebrities like Anne Hathaway, Drew Barrymore, Reese Witherspoon, and Demi Lovato changed the game by unveiling sunny blonde makeovers. After a brief stint as a brunette, Witherspoon returned to her famous golden highlights, joining Barrymore, Hathaway, and Lovato in the trend. If you're considering doing the same, be sure to load up on the deep conditioner afterwards to minimize damage. Brassy tones are the sworn enemy of blonde hair, so to prevent any shifts in shade, incorporate a blue or purple-tinted shampoo and conditioner into your routine. The cool pigments neutralize unexpected orange or yellow shades, and keep your highlights going strong until your next salon appointment. Our favorites are Clairol's Shimmer Lights ($9; sallybeauty.com), Sachajuan's Silver Shampoo ($28; sephora.com), and Rita Hazan's Foaming Color Gloss ($26; ritahazan.com).

By Marie Claire | Beauty on Shine – Mon, May 20, 2013 10:45 AM EDT
Beware: Summer's hottest hairstyle takes more maintenance than you might think. From the runway to the red carpet, it seems like some of the most stylish girls around are chopping off their hair for summer. Top model Karlie Kloss debuted a short bob backstage at the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show in November, and just weeks after her win for Best Actress at the Oscars, America's sweetheart Jennifer Lawrence decided to do away with her long locks in favor of a layered shag. Sure, shorter strands might seem like the easiest way to lighten up your look for the season, but beware: this look isn't for everyone.

It won't necessarily keep you cool. Roz gets tons of requests for this crop at Bumble, varying in length from the chin to the collarbone. People tend to think that this cut is a lighter and cooler option for summer, but they often lose sight of the fact that you can't simply put it up. "A lot of girls are used to pulling their hair into a topknot when they get too warm, but with a bob you don't have that luxury," Roz explained.
