Nail polish is now an accessory in its own right, and every season outside of the shows, hundreds of lenses hone in on bedecked fingernails as they carry invitations or tap iPhones. In many shots of stylish handbags, it's hard to know what caught the photographer's eye: Phoebe Philo's sleek leather design, or the hand that clutched it, decorated with miniature sculptures, scales of glitter, or even the Céline logo (rendered in gold polish).

Bright nail art was an excellent complement to head-to-toe printed looks this spring, and offered a perfect, feminine balance to the athletic-inspired gear we wore this summer. First, her royal magazineness, Anna Wintour, banned size 0 models from appearing on the pages of "Vogue," which was met with public applause from readers and fashion bigwigs alike.

Then a 14-year-old blogger named Julia Bluhm, launched a national petition asking "Seventeen" magazine to feature real girls -- and got the bigwig editors to capitulate.

And now, in an effort to embrace the "real women" community, magazines have jumped on a whole new bandwagon called reverse retouching.

For some reason, people run away from face oil. I get it if you are the queen of breakouts or tend to get shiny, but the rest of us need to stop running and give it a try! Why? Well, there are a few reasons! I spoke to Dennis Gross, M.D., one of my favorite derms in New York City, to get the scoop.

1. Dr. Gross says: It hydrates better than anything. Since face oil hearts skin's natural oils, it'll penetrate deeply to moisturize really well. Awesome for dry-skinned gals (like me!), but also great for combo complexions.

2. I say: It feels lighter than lotion. I tend to have super dry skin, but can't stand a thick layer of cream sitting on my face. In my experience, face oil disappears much faster than lotions but hydrates just as well (if not better!).

Tom Ford has never shied away from speaking his mind-remember when he confessed that he spends most of his alone time in the buff? But the designer is getting a big, collective eye-roll across the internet for his latest comment: that Gisele Bündchen, who is all of 32, should get ready to be old and ugly. "This sounds negative, but when you're considered one of the most beautiful women in the world, it's very, very hard when that starts to slip away. It's hard to feel good about yourself when people react to you differently," he says in the fall issue of VMAN, where he interviews her husband, Tom Brady. "I know through some of my best friends who are really famous actresses-I'm not going to mention their names-who were at one point considered to be among the most beautiful women in the world at different periods of time, and how hard it is for them emotionally. So I hope Gisele is prepared for that, because it's so difficult."
