makeupAll this talk about tanning mom has got me thinking about beauty products. Let's put aside whether or not Patricia Krentcil let her child tan with her for a moment and focus on the mom. She seems to have a distorted view of what looks good on her because she is a little too tan, with way too much bronzer. But I get where she is. I do. I once had a high hair issue back in the 80s/early 90s and if my hair was flat I thought I looked terrible. That wasn't true -- in fact the opposite was true. But we've all been there -- thinking something looked good that really didn't. Over-doing it.

Which is why I was very happy and yet somewhat surprised to learn the results of a recent survey about how much makeup women really wear.
We don't all hide behind our makeup. In fact, according to Bella Sugar's poll, 15 percent of their readers (which is a beauty site) don't really wear makeup all that often atRead More »from Surprising Poll Reveals How Much Makeup Women Really Wear

Check out that massive tat on her back!
Sure it's impressive from a distance, but wait 'til you see it up close ...
Snow White TattooUm, y'all?
THIS IS HARDCORE.
I mean, seriously. It's about the most elaborate tattoo I've ever seen in person. Top it off with a Snow White dress and, well, that's a memory in the making.
I can't even imagine the pain poor Snow endured having this done on her back. And I'm so curious about the story behind it. Who designed this tattoo? What's it's signficance?
And were the dwarves' feeling hurt that she didn't includeRead More »from Snow White Gets a Tattoo

Make It Last!
Tired of shelling out for haircolor or a manicure, only to have it fade or chip far too soon? Try these tips to squeeze every penny's worth out of your beauty treatments. Photo credit: Agusta Butera
The Treatment: Brow Shaping
Grow them out. Don't wax or tweeze for three to four weeks before having your brows shaped. This gives you (or your esthetician) more hairs to work with, so you'll be sure to get the best possible brow shape and won't be dealing with pesky stragglers in a week.
Exfoliate. Use a gentle exfoliating cleanser on the brow area to remove dead skin cells. They may be holding back small hairs, which could then be missed during waxing or tweezing-leading them to pop out soon afterward.
Downplay regrowth. Fill in your eyebrows with a brow pencil, which will give them more definition and draw attention away from stray hairs that are growing back. One to try: Maybelline New York Eye Studio Master Shape BrowRead More »from Make Your Beauty Treatments Last

Sometimes you're just flirting with a piece of clothing when a salesperson comes up and asks if you want to commit. If you're not ready, then smiling and saying, 'I'm just browsing' is a more than respectable
I admit, when it comes to my photos, I'm pretty much a master at editing. I won't put a photo up on Facebook unless it's been cropped, colored, or tweaked in some way to make me look ah-mazing. (Thank you, Instagram!) Why not show off my amazing skills at creating a soft focus -- and hide my shiny t-zone at the same time?
Of course, I do have some restraint when it comes to tweaking -- unlike certain photo editors out there. I've come across missing legs, creepy, unidentified hands, and morphed body parts just by searching "photoshop disasters" on the web. Scroll down to see some of the craziest ones, or click here for the entire list. It makes you wonder, how the heck these ever made it to print?

It's one thing to deal with breakouts in your teens, when everyone's hormones are out of control. It's quite another, however, to have to go through the everyday trials and tribulations of adulthood with a big zit on your face. Is it even possible to seem authoritative in situations at work when you have a big pimple on your nose?
Photo: Getty ImagesAccording to Katie Rodan, M.D., 30 percent of all women have these types of skin issues. We sat down with the co-developer of Proactiv to talk all things acne, from what causes it to the most important, how to stop it!
One of the more interesting facts I learned during our pimple pow-wow was that even acne changes with age. When it appears in the teen years, it shows up on the forehead, but as we age, the breakouts migrate downward. This definitely resonates with me, as I always seem to break out on my chin. Dr. Rodan said these chin eruptions are caused by a lack of estrogen.
