Allure InstagramWe've seen our share of off-duty models sporting gorgeous waves during New York Fashion Week, but on the runways the look has been more dressed up and decorated than in recent years. Hooray! Here are my three favorite hair accessories so far--and how to pull them off at home.
Gold barrettes at Jason Wu. To reflect the shimmer in the collection, hairstylist Odile Gilbert used gold barrettes clipped into low, supersleek ponytails (seen above). The rectangular-shaped Sylvain Le Hen clips can be attached above or below the base of a ponytail and still conceal the elastic. They look best on a low ponytail rather than one that's high or mid-level, but you don't have to keep your hair sleek and straight: They're pretty on a messy tail as well. Gilbert told us she prefers the rose gold variety she buys in Paris, but I hunted them down on the website La Garçonne.

Courtesy of Lindsay HugginsLadies, in case you didn't know, it's New York Fashion Week (NYFW) -- and some of the world's hottest designers are showcasing their Spring 2014 collections. Each day, one of our fashion editors will be sharing their favorite moments from inside the trenches. Tody, Senior Fashion Market Editor Lindsay Huggins shows us her favorite moments from today's shows. And even though summer just ended, we're ready for 2014 after watching Tommy Hilfiger do his thank-you wave from a set of beachy dunes.
MAJOR TREND ALERTS: Sporty details and SKIN. We showed you the exposed zipper on an otherwise prim dress at Kate Spade, and the cut-out trend we saw at Herve Leger and Jill Stuart is not disappearing anytime soon. At Tommy Hilfiger, the sportiness went next-level with the designer's use of surf-style fabrics, zippers and cut-outs. We're in love.

"The Bieber" is back! Well, technically, Bieber never went anywhere, but the singer's iconic swoopy bowl cut that was replaced by a dapper James Dean-inspired pompadour in 201X made its triumphant return this weekend at New York Fashion Week. We all know Justin takes style seriously-he's the face of NEO, he made drop-crotch sweatpants a thing, and he's positively fearless when it comes to on-stage costumes (head-to-toe all-white leather? Why not!). So sitting front row at during Fashion Week was no surprise, but his new 'do-or old 'do, rather-definitely was.

When he took his seat at Yohji Yamamoto's Y-3 presentation Sunday night, the superstar was rocking side-swept bangs that brought to mind "Baby"-era Biebs. What did he think of his first NYFW show? Your guess is as good as ours, since he kept his oversized shades on throughout the show and refused to talk to

For DKNY's 25th anniversary, the runway was a sporty meets urban-wear mashup of slouchy denim, paisley bodysuits, and baseball caps. In a nod to the '90s, Karan printed black and white "DKNY" monogram text on shirts and pants, and stuck iron-on-patches onto jeans and overalls.

While the clothes had a downtown feel, the hair took on a more uptown-slick route: It was clean and polished with a side part and low side pony. According to Wella Professionals Global Creative Director, Eugenie Soulieman, "[The hair] needed something that was uniform to pull the look together because the looks are really diverse, so in a funny way, the hair didn't have anything to do with the collection. It was an idea that kind of works for everything really: It is just very well done hair, perfect, just very low side part, a low side pony tail, with a straight slick gorgeous texture. She may be contractually required by Victoria's Secret to remain "bikini ready" 365 days a year, but Dutch model Doutzen Kroes says she has the body of a real woman.

The mother of a 2-year-old boy, Phyllon, with her husband, DJ Sunnery James, told the Telegraph U.K. that she doesn't fit into sample sizes and doesn't expect to: "I'm 28 and I've had a baby. I have a woman's body, and once in a while you run into the fact that things are not fitting the way they should be. But I joke about it and say, 'What 13-year-old girl was wearing this?'" If companies balk at the fact she might not fit into a size zero, she says she doesn't care. "If they think I'm too fat, I'd rather not do the job—because I'm super-healthy and fit and I'm so happy the way I am."

Giovanni Giannoni/WWD I'm all about minimalism when it comes to my own hair, but who doesn't love a little runway drama? Yesterday, while other designers were letting their clothes do the talking, Zac Posen delivered the bold and the beautiful (and his gowns were pretty amazing, too).
The updos, created by hairstylist Odile Gilbert and embellished with silk flowers designed by Posen, were incredibly romantic--and looked about as achievable as the proverbial storybook ending. But according to Gilbert, the hairstyles may be easier than they appear: "It was a spontaneous, imperfect way of fixing the hair," she said.

She put Kérastase Mousse Bouffante into the models' damp hair before blow-drying to give it texture, which was key to keeping the look a little messy and romantic. Then, she used a 1.5-inch curling iron on small sections at a time, pinning twisted pieces up as she worked around the head to lock in the shape. After letting it all

Spring 2014 runways, from left: Jason Wu, Victoria Beckham, Helmut Lang, SunoAmy already spotted one ubiquitous NYFW runway trend of crop tops for next spring (they're not going anywhere, ladies), but there's another one raging, which is decidedly more work appropriate: blazer vests.
Jason Wu sent this full-on sleeveless suit down the runway--accessorized with a roomy satchel that's perfect for the office, but no shirt, which might not be.

Victoria Beckham, who's known for designing body-skimming silhouettes, surprised us with more volume and shape in this collection. Example: this structured, oversized, and button-less vest. It's always nice to see a designer evolve, plus Posh is a working mom so she needs inspired office-wear options, right?
Yigal Azrouël went with a nipped waist and multiple tromp l'oeil lapels in this black design. Although, this sleek style might be more of a sexy evening suit option.

For designer Donna Karan, yesterday's high-energy 25th anniversary DKNY show was dedicated to the city the line was born and bred in. The spring 2014 collection, boasting bold pastel trenches, dresses, swimsuits and blazers, represents "New York," Karan told InStyle.com. "The art of New York, the individuality of New York, the needs of New York, the strength of New York, the power of New York and obviously black and white and color." And among those celebrating in the front row were Kelly Osbourne and Bella Thorne (in DKNY). Thorne, in a piece from the spring collection, called the line's sporty feel her favorite. But what she really loves about DKNY? The designer herself. "She's just a very good, sweet, kind person," Thorne told InStyle.com before the show. "It would be such an honor to meet her, and I'm like, 'Where is she? Where is she? I want to meet her, I want to meet her!'" One DKNY loyalist who took her Fashion Week activity beyond the front row was musician Rita Ora, who, asRead More »from DKNY Celebrates 25 Years, and a Surprise Guest Walks the Runway

Courtesy of NARSI've loved an orange lip ever since I declared it the coolest and most unexpected beauty trend of 2012--so I am obviously delighted to tell you that orange lipstick has already graced the spring 2014 Fashion Week runways. It's quite a perfect shade of orange too. Want to see?

At the Creatures of the Wind show, a satin textured orange lip was the star of the makeup show. "It contrasts the color and finish of the opalescent-textured eye, and also references the era of the artist Eugene von Bruenchenhein, which was a source of inspiration for Shane and Chris. We loved the idea of translating this into the beauty look as well," says James Boehmer, Nars director of global artistry.
Unfortch, the exact color he used--the Nars Timanfaya Satin Lip Pencil--will be new for spring 2014, so you'll have to wait till then to get your pretty little hands on it. For now, James suggests trying Nars Semi-Matte
