Remember when a racy prom dress involved a plunging neckline, bare midriff, or thigh-high slit? Now that was pushing the envelope! And maybe you'd pair it with dyed-to-match pumps and opera gloves for good measure. Well all the rules have gone out the window this year with leopard print, revealing cutouts, peacock feathers, mullet hemlines, and acid green ruffles adorning the most popular new styles. Trendy prom dresses from every decade can be embarrassing or regrettable when looking back, but have gowns today hit a new low? Take a look at some of the tackiest offerings of 2013. .Maternity dressing is hard. First off, you're dealing with a lot of obstacles, many of which are more serious than picking out a cute outfit - from nausea in the mornings to cravings all day, and trying to juggle a normal life in between, moms-to-be tend to have a lot going on. Some of them, like Kate Middleton are lucky enough to have teams of stylists, personal shoppers, royal hair-brushers, and all manner of other helpers to assist with looking cute. So, that helps.

But today, she stepped out sans-jacket in a lovely floral-print dress, baby body on display. WWD/Steve Eichner Most people associate Coach with a horse-and-buggy logo, tassel embellishments and supple leather--not its president and executive director of over 16 years, Reed Krakoff. But while his leadership role at the company is lower profile than say, Karl Lagerfeld's at Chanel, or Alber Elbaz's at Lanvin, he's no less important to the brand. In fact, it's a testament to his talent that the label is associated with buggies, tassels and kidskin instead of his face. It means people are really into its product, not just the name behind it.
So, given the Krakoff-directed vision of Coach we've grown to love over nearly two decades, it was a major shock to read he's leaving his post as of June 2014. According to WWD, that's when his contract ends and instead of renewing, he'd like to focus on growing his own namesake collection, which launched in 2010.

By Sarah B. Weir, Yahoo! blogger | Fashion – Tue, Apr 23, 2013 3:04 PM EDTRule #1: If your shorts could be called "hot pants" or evoke the word "booty," save them for the beach. Young celebs like Miley Cyrus and Rihanna step out in super short shorts, but it's not a trend most people can or should get away with. Shorts can be cute on a date and even office appropriate, but should always fully cover the derriere and upper thigh. Choose pretty prints, solids, or stripes in a substantial fabric and relegate your favorite cut offs to the weekend.

By The Bethenny Show | Fashion – Tue, Apr 23, 2013 2:37 PM EDTWhen it's beautiful outside, the last thing you want to do is be stuck under fluorescent mall lighting, trying on pair after pair of shades. With each one you pick up, it's like a slot machine of style guessing. You don't have time to waste. Los Angeles stylist Jen Pinkston is here to help a girl out!
While most accessories tend to be a one-size-fits-all situation, sunglasses are the opposite. How many times have you picked up a cute pair of shades, only to be less than thrilled with the way they fit your face when you looked in the mirror? Specific styles work better for different face shapes.
Here are some tricks and tips for finding the pair that's perfect for you!

If your face is heart-shaped -- think Bethenny, Reese Witherspoon and Taylor Swift -- keep frames slight and simple. Heart-shaped faces tend to have petite features that can be overpowered by large frames.

By Babble.com | Fashion – Tue, Apr 23, 2013 2:35 PM EDTViva Weddings is back! And this week, I want to jump right into it with a pop of color. When we think of weddings, what colors do you normally think of? White? Ivory? Not me, my brain automatically wants to try and figure out how bright and vibrant hues can work its way into this special day. And there's no easier way than with bridal shoes. I know what you're thinking…"No one will even be able to see them." That's not necessarily true. You'll know you're wearing them, and they do peek out from under your dress. I love that unsuspecting pop of color beneath the traditional white dress when you're walking or sitting down. Don't forget, they make great subjects for your bridal photos too. Photographers love them! Not sure what color to go with? Try a pair in your favorite shade, match your bouquet, get in sync with your wedding colors, or even your bridal party. Just make sure they're comfortable and you can walk in them. Unless you change them out with flats, you're going to be doing a

When Baz Luhrmann-whose resume includes frenetic, glitter-garnished musicals like "Moulin Rouge" and "Strictly Ballroom"-began working on a modern adaptation of the Fitzgerald classic, "The Great Gatsby," he lured collaborators from worlds as diverse as hip hop, hospitality, and fine jewelry.
Not only did Tiffany & Co. create Daisy Buchanan's glamorous Art Deco adornments, but Miuccia Prada designed her swishy flapper garb.
As for the fellas, Brooks Brothers (which is actually name checked in the original Fitzgerald text) created dapper fitted suits and silky cravates-and, subsequently, a complete retail collection hitting stores this month.
Supplying even more swagger? Moët & Chandon sponsored Gatsby's champagne-soaked celebrations while Jay-Z produced an original hip hop score.
We're pretty sure "Gatsby" was never this great.

Courtesy Photo; NCP/Star Max/FilmMagicKim Kardashian's maternity style has turned heads and started conversations, as the reality star has not shied away from curve-hugging silhouettes and sky-high stilettos throughout her pregnancy. And her shopping jaunt in New York's Tribeca neighborhood yesterday was no different: She strode across the downtown sidewalk in a black Stella McCartney dress and matching Valentino cardigan. However, it's the footwear that's our favorite part of this outfit because the sandals are a little ode to her boyfriend and father of her unborn baby Kanye West. The wing-covered heels are part of the collection Giuseppe Zanotti designed for West's show last year-the white pair she's wearing are from last season, but this spring they're available in a black and gold version, shown here. Find them for $1,500 on colette.fr.

There are many different types of wedding attire; it can be hard to know the etiquette (or even the definition!) as a guest -- or even as a bride! Here are the different types of wedding dress codes you may be presented with as a guest, and tips on what to wear and what to skip.
White-tie and black-tie.

From Donna Morgan via Lover.ly
White-tie is the most formal look for men; it includes a jacket with tails and a white vest and tie. Black-tie is slightly less formal -- men can simply wear a tuxedo, and should wear an actual black tie. (Plus a black vest, cummerbund, or suspenders.) For both black-tie and white-tie events, women should wear a formal evening gown and feel free to go all out with hair, makeup, and jewels. This is your red carpet moment! You can also wear a dressy cocktail dress.
Black-tie suggested.

Men can wear a tuxedo if they have one, but can otherwise opt for a black suit, white shirt, and Read More »from Guest Attire Decoded: What to Wear to Any Type of Wedding
