By Julie Pereira, Thread Blogger | Fashion – Thu, Aug 16, 2012 2:29 PM EDTThe stars came out this week to celebrate "Sparkle", opening this Friday. While the film has the dubious honor of being Whitney Houston's last movie, we can't wait to see some sumptuous 60s-era costumes and hair designs and to hear stars Jordin Sparks, Tika Sumpter and Carmen Ejogo harmonize. "Fashion Hazard": The New Runway Action Video Game for Girls
By BeautyRiot Diva | Fashion – Thu, Aug 16, 2012 2:29 PM EDTMove over, Diner Dash -- there's a new girl game on the market. "Fashion Hazard" is an arcade-style video game for the iPad and iPhone that lets gamers choose a fashion model avatar and then guide her down an action-packed runway, dodging obstacles like red paint, flying lattes, and other antagonistic models. No surprise that the game was created by Interactive Product Group, a part of Conde Nast, the media giant that publishes "Vogue," "Glamour," and "GQ."

The game was influenced by "Temple Run," a fast-paced, Indiana Jones-esque chase through an ancient temple. "Fashion Hazard" is similar, only a catwalk replaces the temple paths. It's being introduced as a sort of antidote to the typical video games for girls that are all about running a cupcake store or dressing up dolls. "Fashion Hazard" is clearly trying to make the statement that girls like action, too, and arcade-style games are not just for boys.6 Sexy High Heels Moms Can Wear Without Falling Over (PHOTOS)

red stilettos heelsI think as women we're raised loving high heels: We're photographed walking around in mom's or grandma's shoes as little girls, we buy our first pair of one-inch kittens for the father-daughter dance, and our college closet is stocked with pumps for every occasion.
Now let's pause for a moment and talk about something else: stilettos. I can't walk in them to save my life. I would faceplant. I can see wearing these sky-high spikes if you had no nerve endings in your feet (or were eager to lose said nerve endings), but for the rest of us, it just seems hopeless. Now now, don't you fret, you fashionistas you! I have the stiletto solution EVERY style savvy mom has been waiting for ...

Have you ever eyed a movie star on the cover of a magazine and thought, "I wish I could afford that outfit."
Rent the Runway, a website started by two Harvard Business School classmates, makes that possible.
Jennifer Fleiss, 28, and Jennifer Hyman, 31, created Rent the Runway in 2009. Their goal was to provide women with "aspirational products from top designers that a woman otherwise wouldn't be able to afford" says Fleiss. Today, Rent the Runway has over 2.5 million members and has raised over $30 million in funding.
The concept is simple. Create an account for free on Rent the Runway's website for access to over 25,000 dresses and 4,000 accessories. Shoppers can rent a dress (and a second size for free) for four or eight days at a time at prices ranging from $30-$250. Additional fees apply for the eight-day rental period. To return the dress, you simply package it into the enclosed pre-paid envelope and drop it in any USPS blue mailbox-no dry cleaningIf there's one motto Hollywood seems to live by, it's "if you've got it, flaunt it"-advice Gwyneth Paltrow took to heart, recently. In a new paparazzi shot, the actress was spotted leaving a restaurant wearing very little indeed, with people asking if she was even wearing pants at all. We know Gwyn's got fab legs, but this fashion faux pas got us thinking: Can shorts ever be too short?

The simple answer, of course, is yes. If you're going to be flashing your naughty bits, your shorts are probably too short. But there are other things to take into consideration when examining the length of your garments: Are your legs shapely enough to pull them off? Can you bend over without flashing anyone? Are you comfortable? If you answered no to any of these, you might want to reconsider your outfit.
