Glitz and glamour go hand in hand with Hollywood movies. Naturally, diamonds have always played a central role in wardrobes and plot-lines throughout the history of film. From Marilyn Monroe's iconic star turn in "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes," where she famously crooned "Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friend" while clad in a hot pink gown and dripping in diamonds, to modern heist flicks like "Ocean's Thirteen," that centers around stealing a diamond necklace here are the stunning diamond moments from movies that stole the show.
In honor of #DiamondMonth on The Vivant, click through the slideshow above for a look at the most memorable diamonds in film!

.Here's how it goes at SXSW: You go and see a myriad of smaller, buzzier bands all week, wait in line for showcases (which often feature the same 20-25 of said bands), and come Saturday, some secret, mind-blowing show appears and everyone goes nuts. Two years ago, Kanye showed up with Jay-Z, last year it was Eminem, and two nights ago, it was The Purple One. Yes, Prince played a tiny (for him, at least) venue in support of Samsung, that lasted until 3 a.m. And not only did we get to see it, but we lived to tell about it, too.
With such large corporate participation in SXSW now, companies have engaged in a pretty massive practice of one-upery: Doritos built an enormous vending machine, MySpace flew out Justin Timberlake, but Samsung may have taken the cake by sending Prince fans on a city-wide scavenger hunt to win tickets to the Saturday night show. Anyone with a Galaxy had to search out "TecTiles" to unlock awards - and all 11 sent you to see Prince. (The

Breaking: a woman's heel got caught in a grate. It's only news because that woman is Kate Middleton. Heel accidents happen all the time but when you're the world's most famous mom-to-be it's front page news.
While attending the St. Patrick’s Day parade in Aldershot, Hampshire, the Duchess of Cambridge nearly lost her shoe after it got stuck in a grate. Luckily, her husband was standing at her side to offer her a steady hand—though he did have a little laugh at her expense as she worked to free her four-inch stiletto.
We've all been there. Sometimes it's a heel stuck in a grate, other times it's a stiletto slowly sinking into wet grass. Truth be told, those extra inches are health hazards if you're not careful.

Kate Middleton’s St. Patrick’s Day Style: She Wore Her Green Emilia Wickstead Coat Again, Plus Baby News!By InStyle.com | Fashion – Mon, Mar 18, 2013 12:04 PM EDT
Getty Images (2)In honor of St. Patrick's Day, Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge headed to Aldershot, as she did last year, to hand out shamrocks to the Irish Guards-and she revealed an exciting bit of baby news, too! Much as she's known to do, Kate repeated a look that we love-the emerald Emilia Wickstead coat-dress she wore to last year's ceremony. To fit her growing baby bump, Kate removed the skinny black belt she wore with last year's look, then finished her ensemble with all black accessories: a floral beret, a turtleneck, pumps, gloves, and tights. And then she gave the troops (and everyone else listening in) a very special treat: According to People.com, Catherine revealed to Sergeant Thomas Laven that she's hoping her baby is a boy, while she also said her husband, Prince William, who was nearby, is rooting for a little Queen-to-be. Exciting! Tell us: Would you like Kate and Will's baby to be a boy or a girl? Let us know in the comments section!

The always stylish Duchess of Cambridge stepped out yesterday for a St. Patrick's Day parade in Aldershot, England alongside her husband Prince William clad in a look you may recognize from before she was pregnant. In fact, she wore the green Emilia Wickstead coat exactly a year prior at the same parade. The only change for her most recent take on the festive look was that she covered up more-opting for tights, a turtleneck, and gloves.
Middleton also got her heel (which was likely by her favorite designer L.K. Bennett) stuck in a grate at one point, eliciting concern from onlookers. Naturally, the princess laughed it off and carried on with grace.

1. Don't start the dress search at the mall. First, have your daughter browse the closets of older cousins and friends who attend other schools. You never know -- she might fall in love with someone else's dress. Scour thrift stores in affluent areas to see if you can score a designer piece. And renting isn't just for tuxedos anymore. Ladies can borrow designer duds through Rent the Runway. If you do shop for a cheap prom dress at the mall, you may have some luck at one of your daughter's favorite stores for everyday clothes.
