While the past year brought us some amazing moments in romance, it also brought us some crap we'd rather forget. Here are ten topics we talked about this year that we're kind of hoping we don't have to talk about any more in 2013 (fingers crossed!).
"Nice Guys." We've all encountered these guys (and their offensive reactions to rejection), we've talked about it, and this month something started calling them out on the Internet at Nice Guys of OKC. In 2013, please let guys know that niceness is basic decency, not the sole qualification to get laid, and that a woman who just wants to be friends is not pure evil.
Sex to sell really weird things. We like sex, but we don't need it draped all over an advertisement for a coffin. We never want sex giving us the heebie jeebies so please stop.
Sexuality shame. Remember the man who offered money for a man to marry his lesbian daughter? Or how Cynthia Nixon hesitated to identify herself as a bisexual and felt she had to

Happy New Year, you guys! I hope you all enjoyed the holidays and some insane NYE parties. And since it's the beginning of 2013, it's time to take a good look at those resolutions you're planning.
OK, I'll go first. This year, I'm vowing to have sex with the lights on more often. I'll admit it, I've had body image issues my entire life. I'm constantly worrying about my pants size and whether or not those M&Ms I ate are going to show.

I'm just not entirely comfortable in my own body yet; it's a work in progress. J, on the other hand, loves my body. He loved me ten pounds heavier and he loves me now (post-workout kick). And I want to feel as comfortable with my own body as he is with it. I'm talking walk-around-the-house-buck-naked confident. And that's why one of my resolutions is to have sex with the lights on. To J, "Sexy is a girl who wants to have sex with the lights on." And maybe this Read More »from 2013 Resolution: Have Sex with the Lights14 Reasons Why Winter is the Worst Season for Dating

It is officially the first day of winter which means that fall, my personal favorite season for dating, is over. And unfortunately, it's replaced by the worst three-month period for romance of the year as far as I'm concerned.
Sure, it has its redeeming qualities--romantic ice skating and hot cocoa dates, rosy cheeks, men in scarves (my favorite!)--but it has so many, many more downers in the world of love. From the freezing temperatures to the unfortunate physical side effects, here is a collection of things about winter that make dating just a little less fun:

1. Unflattering winter coats and layers.
2. No matter how much snuggling and cuddling you do, it's still too cold to really want to take your clothes off.
3. And it's definitely too cold for a sexy peek of skin in your outfit. What am I supposed to attract men with, my wit and charm? (JK. Kind of.)
4. Speaking of skin, winter skin: Pasty, dry, flaky. Sexy!

You know how regular gym goers get annoyed at the first of the year because all the newbies with their New Year's resolutions are taking up the machines? Evidently it's kind of like that with online dating too!

According to Match.com, January 2 is the busiest day of the year for new membership registrations. Last year, there was a 55% increase in new memberships on that day alone. Evidently, there's an overall spike from December 25th to February 14th (decisions to join a dating site during engagement season do not surprise me), but the biggest day comes post-New Year's resolutions. According to Match.com's Chief Scientific Advisor, Dr. Helen Fisher, "As the holidays come to an end, we naturally resolve to fill what's missing in our lives -- particularly love, the most powerful of our human needs and joys." In fact, in a recent survey Match.com conducted, 65% of singles are making a New Year's resolution related toAstrology.Com Daily Love Tarot - Thursday January 3, 2013

One year ago, I was recovering from the worst break-up of my life and my dating resolutions for 2012 were mostly aimed at getting me out of the quicksand. This year it's more about finding the tricky balance between caution and joyous free fall and maybe minimizing some of the loopy overanalyzing of every single word and action (but we are who we are).
1. Get over this 'man of action' obsession.
After getting involved with a lot of indecisive men, I began to get obsessed with this idea of a guy who knew he wanted to be with me and would prove it by coming to get me. No one wants lukewarm affections, but I'm not a princess at the top of a tower waiting for the bravest knight to declare his passion for me. It hurts when people change their minds and are unsure, but they're allowed to up until a certain point.

2. Know when to quit.

"From our first sentence to our first meeting and our first date, we knew it was meant to be. We can't wait to finally share the same name!" Nicole told Farmers.
Since Gerald proposed to Nicole on a Mardi Gras parade float, it was only natural to get married on a float as well. They entered a dream wedding contest sponsored by Farmers Insurance, where they won a chance to get married during the Rose Parade, a trip to Pasadena with up to six witnesses, wedding-day attire, wedding rings, two tickets to the 2013 Rose Bowl game, and more.

The Queen of Wands card reversed suggests that you should consider giving voice to your passions and talent. Engaging in a health and fitness regimen or taking courageous steps to assert your independence and sexuality will bring great benefit and pleasure to your life. The self-assurance you will gain from exploring your own desires will reduce stress and bestow a glowing, natural and stunning aura of personal power and irresistible beauty. Finally, don't be too quick to objectify, conquer or dismiss someone with a wave of the hand if he or she doesn't live up to your expectations or doesn't perceive things the same way. Kim Kardashian and Kanye West have procreated Oh my goodness, guys, this is what happened Sunday tonight: Kanye West stood on a stage in Atlantic City and announced to thousands of fans that his girlfriend, reality-television empress Kim Kardashian, is carrying a tiny little West in her very famous womb.
West announced the pregnancy to concertgoers and told fans to congratulate his "baby mom" on "this amazing thing."
Immediately after this announcement, about a million people no one knows started talking about the Kimye baby on Twitter. And immediately after that, various Jenner-Kardashian-Odoms chimed in:
Khloé Kardashian Odom (the Kardashian my 81-year-old grandmother likes the best, yes, everyone is watching their show) wrote, "Keeping secrets is hard with so many family members! Especially when you are so freaking excited!!!!! LOVE is everything!!!!"
"Im a happy girl !!!!!!!!! Wowza! Oh BABY BABY BABY," said momager (TM) Kris Jenner.
And sensible sister Kourtney Kardashian became uncharacteristically jubilant with this
