YOUR FRIENDS' ACTIVITY

THIS WEEK IN MOM…Lil kids, BIG MESSES! Oh dear, you only turned your back for a second…

    • Watch as one Dad captures video of his two messy sons at lunchtime. This funny parenting moment begs us to ask the question…are two babies messier than one? It's only been a few days since the twins' parents posted Oren and Oscar's lunch online, and already this home video has been seen by over 75,000 of you. Guess moms and dads everywhere can relate to what feeding time fiascos like this one can bring to the table!

    • One day, our daughter will come to me and ask that burning question, the one that plagues all girls. She will want to know how I knew I was in love with her father, how I knew he was the one. She'll wonder if she'll ever find her true love or whether she is destined for a life of loneliness. And this is what I will tell her:

Love isn't something you go looking for because when you do, you never find it. The main reason for this is that love rarely comes in the form you imagine. I never expected to marry a younger man, and your father most definitely never expected to marry an older woman. In fact, I'd dare say he spent many years looking for love in all the wrong places with all the wrong people. When we met, neither of us was looking at all. We had both pretty much decided to give up and just enjoy life, try to be happy. Luckily, we found happiness together. It was a beautiful surprise.

In our case, love snuck up on us and bashed us in the heart when we weren't expecting it, when

How do you celebrate Valentine's Day as a family?...

One fun way to celebrate was brought up by @AnEverydayJen who puts little gifts on her children's nightstands for them to wake up to. Just little things like books, art supplies or even a little candy.

Another great idea is to buy a simple heart shaped cookie cutter that can be used to make heart-shaped pancakes, eggs, cookies, sandwiches… and even hamburgers to get into the Vday spirit! (thanks @pittsbrgh24 and @lynlomasi)

And aren't holidays supposed to be about the sentiment and not the stuff? Here are some tweets to inspire us to just

    • This is a photo if a dinner I once served to my family.

And before you ask, no, I wasn't mad at them. I actually love them. I was happy with them. And I was trying to show that love and appreciation by making them a home-cooked meal. Something I very clearly should never do.

I am a kitchen disaster. I have started fires - yes, real fires - in kitchens since I was 9 years old. One Sunday morning, my BFF and I woke up after a sleepover and decided to make breakfast for her parents. We made fried bologna, scrambled eggs, and burnt toast. Of course, the burnt toast wasn't what caught the kitchen on fire. Um, no that would be when I lit the candles on the tray and they were too close to the kitchen cabinets.

And woosh! Hello, first kitchen fire. And hello, nice new kitchen for BFF's parents.

Anyway, since then I have had a fire in every kitchen I have lived in, including one in my mother's kitchen when she was laid up from surgery and I was taking care of her. I was making sti
