“There’s no way to fix this issue. It’s in the book, printed in ink,” a visibly upset Susan Powell told Fox 5 Atlanta regarding what appears to be a cruel joke on her son, Dylan Worthen, a freshman trumpet player at South Paulding High School. In the offending caption, under a school band photo, her son’s name appears as “Dylan Worthen-Freak.”

More than 900 copies of the yearbook, called "Bold," have just been printed.

By Beth Greenfield, Shine Staff | Parenting – Wed, May 15, 2013 11:23 AM EDTNow this is rich: Disney World is investigating news that a handful of upper-crust Manhattan moms have a pricey, secret way to get their kids to the front of the lines—and it’s not by bribing Mickey Mouse.

Instead, according to the New York Post, the moms pay $130 an hour to hire a disabled, “black-market” guide, who uses her position—sitting in a motorized scooter—to help entitled families gain special access to rides.
“On one hand, you can say she’s a great entrepreneur,” disability activist Kleo King, of the National Spinal Cord Injury Association, told Yahoo! Shine. “On the other hand, she’s kind of pimping herself out. And it’s outrageous she would help people commit fraud.”
Though the New York Post has no on-the-record sources in its shocking report, Disney is taking the matter seriously, according to spokesperson Bryan Malenius, who told Yahoo! Shine, “We are thoroughly reviewing the situation andNo Shame: The Extreme Measures People Will Go Through to Cut Lines

Sure, Disney is all about fairy tales and make believe. But if you don't have a disability at home, you don't get to have one just because you want to skip the lines at Disney Parks.
No cuts, no buts, no coconuts.
Seriously.
Even the littlest kids know that.
See? Mine are illustrating just that in every photo I shared here.
But according to an article the NY Post published this morning, some New York moms are RENTING handicapped tour guides to walk them through Walt Disney World so they can line skip by using entrances dedicated to disabled guests.
Renting them.
I'll let that sink in for a minute.
"My daughter waited one minute to get on 'It's a Small World'- the other kids had to wait 2 1/2 hours," one "rich mom" is quoted as saying. "You can't go to Disney without a tour concierge. This is how the 1 percent does Disney."
I'd like to know if she's also cackling while stroking her Cruella de Ville fur, because seriously?
WHO DOES THAT?

By Babble.com | Parenting – Wed, May 15, 2013 10:31 AM EDTEverywhere you look on the internet these days there are photobombs and it's no wonder, really. See, photobombs, funny candid pictures of people or animals stepping into the frame of someone else's snapshot, intentionally or not, are the ultimate fighter of terrorism and illness and depression and even just those Monday morning blahs. We need laughter. In a lot of ways, we might just die without it. So, photobombs drag their heavily ironic name around (how can any kind of bomb be any kind of good, you know?) with them up and down every single random alley of cyber space just to pop out from behind some website dumpster and surprise us right when we need a laugh most.,With that in mind, I decided to gather up bunch of hilarious photobombs featuring kids either doing the honors or getting bombed themselves. I can't decide which ones I like better since each genre is just classic in it's own right, really. Anyway, as you probably already know, life is too short not to share these things

Dealing with mommy guiltI've worked in some capacity almost the entire time I've been a mother. And with that work came some travel. When I left my old career and began blogging and writing part time last year, it allowed me to work from home, with very little travel. Ideal since we were having our third and final baby. However, as with many different professional fields, every now and then it becomes important to connect and network with your peers and I did just that this past weekend. I attended the Mom 2.0 Summit in South Orange County, and while I made the decision to come home every night after the conference instead of staying at the hotel, I still missed quite a lot with the kids, since I was gone for 12-15 hours each day. Here's a peek at just a few of the things I missed out on, and how I deal with that internal gut pull that is often responsible for "mommy guilt."

It's an inside look at Hollywood through the life of Sophie, the main character who is an entertainment publicist. It's her story, dealing with the ins and outs of Hollywood, trying to balance a relationship and work, and trying to figure out what she wants out of life!
This is your first fiction book. Why did you want to write it?
I've spent years at Days of our Lives as an actress, telling other peoples stories. I love my job, but sometimes it's frustrating to act out the stories, when it's not how I want it to go! So I started writing this character to just fulfill my own creative instincts. Now it's crazy and thrilling to know other people will be reading it!

I am used to being the center of attention, with all the work I've done over the years building an organization that takes partially used bars of soap from hotels and recycles them into new bars. With the Global Soap Project, I have earned a reputation of doing good around the world, and for that I am proud as well as humbled. But I am also used to being the center of the universe. For example, every single day I get an email or a Facebook "like" or a kind, encouraging statement from friends around the world that really appreciate the work we have done at Global Soap Project. But someone has been filling in daddy's shoes slowly but steadily, and it has caught my attention.

Mom-ing It OnlineBy Sierra Filucci, Common Sense Media editor
I admit, I've spent way too long on certain friends' Facebook pages, scrolling through their photos of birthday parties, matching holiday outfits, and luscious four-course meals, immersing myself in their apparently perfect lives. This modern age of social networks gives us unprecedented access to other mothers' lives. It's so easy to get caught up in their poignant photos and celebratory posts about kids' accomplishments and start believing that this carefully curated online identity is actually the sum of your mom friends' lives.
Inevitably, this leads to self-judgment. Nothing like looking up from a slideshow of a friend's newly designed kitchen to see your own: dirty, disorganized ... depressing.
But what most of us know deep down is that this online life -- the one carefully crafted on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, etc. -- is only the highlight reel. The behind-the-scenes life is much grittier, filled with more tantrums

Baby Feeding I still remember those tiny, impossibly strong hands pushing back against my chest. It was 2 in the morning, just a few hours after what seemed like an endless 21-hour labor, and my newborn didn't seem the least bit interested in feeding at my breast - in fact, he was actively fighting me, like a mini-Muhammad Ali. Fly like a butterfly, sting like a stubborn baby.
Though I had initially planned on exclusive nursing, at that point, in my exhausted, postpartum haze, if someone had offered to take my firstborn away and feed him formula, I wouldn't have said no. Heck, if someone had offered to feed him mushed bread and beer, I wouldn't have said no.
Now, the results of a new study suggest that temporarily including just a little formula in a breastfed newborn's diet (known as early limited formula, or ELF) in those early days won't hurt a mother and baby's prospects for exclusive breastfeeding down the line but could actually help some nurse longer.
The study, by researchers at the
