The gluten-free craze has been around for a few years, but it reached a feverish peak in 2013 thanks to books like The South Beach Diet Gluten Solution and Grain Brain. Whether or not you take their advice is your decision, but the latter provided a perfect name for that thing that happens to your mind when a waiter places a bread basket on the table at a restaurant, and suddenly it's all you can think about because mmmmm brioche.
