Ellen, Lupti, and the world's most infamous lip balm
There was one very obvious, pre-planned product placement involved in the Oscars-the selfie that broke Twitter and gave a Samsung Galaxy the incredible honor of being handled by Bradley Cooper's beautiful hands. But product placement kismet wasn't just limited to the tech giants of the world. When Lupita Nyong'o set down her Oscar to hand Ellen some lip balm from her purse, she rocketed one lucky brand-HydraQuench Moisture Replenishing Lip Balm-to stardom.

The lip balm manufacturer Clarins announced in a press release (via the Los Angeles Times) that the balm in question "almost sold out across the country overnight." According to the product page, it remains sold out, though you could see the stuff in action at Paris Fashion Week, apparently.
