Few things make me happier than a brightcoral or fuschia lip-I instantly feel so glamorous, even when doing mundane things like buying produce. But if my lips are dry, the bold color only highlights lines and rough spots-and it looks totally unsexy.

Lip balm helps, but not always…depending on how badly I've been biting my lips (a habit I blame on Molly Ringwald). What does dramatically improve my lip texture is lip scrub. Much like a face scrub gently resurfaces your face to make it smooth, soft, and a better canvas for makeup, so does the lip version. Here, the best of the best, according to me:

Q: I am a complete nail polish addict and change my polish color multiple times a week, which is making my nails very unhappy. Any recommendations for keeping nails healthy during polish changes? Can you recommend a good base coat or polish remover? -Jen

    A: Dear Jen,

My recommendations, besides the obvious love-the-color-you're-with-for-at-least-a-few-more-days (!) are: 1. These Priti NYC nontoxic remover pads, which despite their gentle ingredient list do the job. Acetone, the main ingredient in removers that work like a dream, is rough on your nails (not to mention the environment). So super-avoid. 2. Pass the pad over each nail lightly, for just a second, and after you've done all 10, go back in and seriously swipe off the color. The initial pass starts the dissolving, so you don't have to rub as hard on the second visit. 3. Swipe from the bottom of your nail to the top, doing your best

  • Every four or so years, I get an itch to do something drastic.

In high school, I dyed my hair purple despite my parents' threats to throw me out of the house. After college, I said sayonara to a job offer and took off for a year-long backpacking trip through Europe.

And my craving for change is back again.

But now that I'm older, wiser, and far too broke for a self-indulgent trip around the world, I need to find a way to scratch my itch without doing anything too drastic. My answer: I'm going to get a pixie cut.

OK, so I know what you're thinking. If I don't have a perfectly symmetrical face as pretty as Michelle Williams', Keira Knightley's, or Emma Watson's, a pixie is only going to make me look like a linebacker with lipstick on, right?

That's where you'd be wrong, my friend.

  • My boyfriend wants to move out of our apartment. Not with me, mind you, but just him. Alone. The reason? My beauty clutter has become an issue. It's taken over our kitchen table, the bedroom dresser, the bathroom counter, and even his desk in the office. In my defense, a deluge of beauty goodies does come with the job. And on the upside, it keeps me from looking like one of these train wrecks.

But I digress. I love my boyfriend and our cozy (if a little cluttered) apartment, so I'm willing to change my ways. What I'm not willing to change is giving up great style for function. So I began looking on Pinterest, especially on my favorite pinners' boards, for stylish ways to de-clutter. It was no surprise that I found a bunch of great ideas to keep both of us happy. And him in the apartment.

Check out my three favorite projects below, or see the entire list, with easy-to-follow instructions for all of the cute solutions, right here.

Lovers of art and culture in particular will have no cause to fret. Below, find out which cities are the best to visit in the rain, and what to do when you get there.

So many songs and poems have been written about Paris in the rain that it's become a cliché -- one that recently resurfaced in the Woody Allen film Midnight in Paris. Check out our favorite Paris activities for when it's drizzly and gray below.

  • The clues to aging gracefully. The clues to aging gracefully. We've all witnessed the phenomenon: that radiant older woman whose cherub skin seems to (unfairly!) defy the hands of time, and the thirty-something who appears haggard and worn beyond her years. What gives, Mother Nature?

While environmental and lifestyle factors no doubt play a major role in how you age, experts say that pure genetic luck is the foundation of the equation. A 2009 study of twins published in the Archives of Dermatology revealed that up to 60 percent of skin aging is due to genetics, says Dr. Heidi Waldorf, director of laser and cosmetic dermatology at New York's Mount Sinai Hospital.

But be forewarned-this fact could work against you if the assumption that you have "good" genetic odds leads you to not care for your skin. "You can have the best genes in the world, but if you smoke or bake in the sun, you'll look 10 to 15 years older," says Los Angeles dermatologist, Dr. Ava Shamban. "Moral of the story: Don't count on your genes to save you from a poor

If you can't spend the last weeks of winter in the tropics, there are some things you can do to help ensure healthy hands and cuticles for the Spring.

For more than 100 years, professionals at the renowned Elizabeth Arden Red Door Spas have been applying their expertise in beauty and spa treatments to guests. To lend a helping hand in the quest for healthy skin and nails, trainer and nail technician at the Red Door Spa in Phoenix, AZ, Gina Georgescu offered some advice.

Hand washing is important to prevent the spread of germs and to keep from catching a cold or the flu, especially in the winter, but all that washing can dry out your hands and cuticles. What's a gal to do? Moisturizing, of course, is important. "Use a moisturizer after washing and drying your hands," says Georgescu. "Make sure your hands are thoroughly dry before applying a rich cream, made especially

  • Source: How to Make the Barely-There Nail Color Trend Work For You

The most fashion-forward manicures this year aren't necessarily the nail art and bright colors we've come to expect. Instead, the emerging look has trended towards delicate, translucent, and creamy. It's almost as if the shades match the natural color of your nail bed. While it's a beautifully understated look, it's not exactly forgiving. Sheer polish doesn't cover up imperfections the way its more opaque brethren do, and not every polish shade is going to flatter your skin tone. So how can you wear the trend even if you don't have a professional manicurist on hand?

    Follow Your Undertones
When you're shopping for a sheer polish, make sure it coordinates with your undertones. If your undertones are cool, look for a baby pink shade. If they're warm, beige or peach will probably flatter you better.

    Buff and Base
Having a perfectly smooth nail surface is much more important with transparent colors than it is with normal
