To say Greg Gadson has “seen it all” would be an understatement. The lieutenant colonel is a 24-year Army veteran who sustained injuries from a roadside bomb on May 7, 2007 that would forever change his life. But when you meet Greg, you’re not faced with a man who feels sorry for himself-- or one who wants you to feel sorry for him.  Instead, the double-amputee hero is a down-to-earth guy with positive energy and an optimistic outlook. And now that guy is about to take his real-life experience on the battlefield and make his Hollywood debut in “Battleship” opposite Brooklyn Decker. We caught up with Greg in Hawaii for his story of triumph and inspiration-- and with Brooklyn who told us about the impact Greg has had on her and her family.

When we think of Rihanna, we envision a rock star in eye-catching couture strutting her stuff onstage belting out “Umbrella.”  So when we heard that Rihanna would make her big screen debut as weapons specialist Cora "Weps" Raikes in the action flick “Battleship," we weren’t sure what to expect. And neither was she. When I was little one of my favorite things to do was to sit on my mom’s bed and watch her put makeup on. She’d have electric curlers in her hair-- the kind that you’d secure with rubber-tipped wire clips. I’d get to hold her mascara, blush, and eye shadow and hand them over like a nurse assisting a doctor. She’d dispense tips as she applied each one.
