Last night’s American Music Awards were full of thrills, spills, and high fashion. Some highlights included American Idol alum Adam Lambert’s risqué performance, and Jennifer Lopez landing on her tush during a dance move gone wrong. But these moments paled in comparison to the show’s red carpet arrivals – the outfits were full of sparkles, but these are the stars we think shined the most.

Rihanna turned heads in this unique black and white strapless Marchesa gown with its laser cut floral details and smooth satin lines.

Carrie Underwood glistened in glitter and gold thanks to her gold lame one-shoulder dress by Theia and her bejeweled accessories.

Demi Lovato was channeling her princess side in a Jenny Packham pale pink tiered dress, Martin Katz diamond earrings, and an 18K rose amethyst Tacori ring.

Selena Gomez looked all grown up in this silver sequined Runhof dress and pearl and crystal belt.

Showing off a sliver of skin was Kristen Bell in a silver Christian Cota bandeau and skirt, Christian Louboutin shoes, and a ring by Neil Lane.

Kate Hudson dared to bare down to there in a slinky vintage Versace number.

Jennifer Lopez rocked the cutout trend in this futuristic white dress with matching shoes.

Looking all fergalicious, Fergie sparkled in a black studded Armani Prive gown with zipper embellishments and a sky-high slit.

Shakira flaunted her incredible body in a bright yellow Versace mini with triangle cutout detailing.

Paula Abdul dressed to impress in this black strapless dress, but she would’ve looked even better if she ditched those heavy metal chain bracelets (we hope those aren’t from her jewelry line!).
