11 Hairstyles We're Sick Of

I share the list below with a bit of sadness in my heart. This weekend I got a hair cut, and my new look is on this list -- sad! Ah well, I still like it and think it's totally flattering. Actually, I think that's why a lot of these styles made the list -- because they are flattering on so many people. Still, a lot of us (including myself it would seem) could stand to be a bit more creative.

Below is a round up of the hairstyles TotalBeauty.com readers are sick to death of seeing. What do you think? Do we need to shake things up, maybe try a new look like this? Or are these classic styles that no one should shy away from? Throw in your two cents here!

No. 1: The Victoria Beckham Posh Spice Bob (or Pob)
This cut (above) has swept the nation, but our readers say it's major overkill. This is the look they complained about most, are you sick of it too? If not, then check out this gallery of Pob highlights.

No. 2: The Katie Holmes Bob
Similar to the Pob, this look is also far too popular, our readers say. While it is flattering on many people, there are plenty of other looks you could try, like these for example.

No. 3: Side-Swept Bangs
*Sniff*, I'm totally rocking this look, I don't care what the nay-sayers say. It's a flattering cut and much easier to maintain than bangs like these. But they're right; practically everyone has them these days. As one reader put it: "I'm sick to death of side-swept bangs and waves, it's been in for so long that I'm starting to feel like I live in a sea of Giselle clones."

No. 4: Beachy Waves
Which brings us to no. 4, beachy, wavy hair. This is another style I love, but I will admit that when everyone is doing it, it loses its appeal. One reader gives us some perspective on the look: "I don't see the point of spending hours indoors with various hair products trying to look like you've just come from the beach -- that time would've been better spent actually being AT the beach, no?" Although, not to be contrary, but you can get that beachy look super quick with this how-to. I'm just sayin' …

No. 5: Long Hair and Long Layers

I blame Jennifer Aniston for this one (she's been wearing this trend for years, as evidenced here). And while I will argue that this style is almost universally flattering, I'll also concede that may be its downfall -- because almost everyone in the universe has it.

I like the beachy look during summer, but now that it's cold outside... it just seems kind of wrong/out of place. I think we forget that we're supposed to change hairstyles seasonally too!

yes, so sick of the pob and katie holmes and victoria beckham in general! but i think side swept bangs are amazing. they really are the only bang style that practically everyone can wear. wear them with pride!!

I say there's nothing wrong with classics! I tried almost everything, but keep coming back to what is easiest to maintain and at the same time most flattering. Isn't that what most of these hairstyles have in common? Simplicity and ease of care? Who would want to complicate their busy lives if something is time proven, and works. I shall be a bore when it comes to hair and rather spice things up with the odd dress for one season...fried or otherwise damaged hair takes longer to get over.

I'm a big fan of bobs, regardless of what "lists" say ... however, I do like to switch it up a bit: some days I wear my bob "beachy-weavy" and on other days I straighten it. This gives enough flexibility and never gets boring.

I know too many people with the Pob and I'm tired of it! Half of my friends have it and they look like an army of clones whenever we go out for a girl's night.

I'm with kbeauty100.I too am a big fan of the bobs!I have a very hectic schedule and I find that the bob cut is both easy and classy! I get alot of compliments on my hair. The bob also seems to fit the shape of my face better than other cuts.Believe me I've tried them all from short to long!I agree that the bob will never go out of style!

I like Katie Holmes's bob, just not on her. What I'm sick of is seeing all kinds of people torturing their hair with the straightening iron in order to get the Pob. Overworked and trying-too-hard never looks good!

This is in regards to the whole blonde thing earlier and the whole thing about the "Bob".First,I am a bleached, tanned blonde,I love it,and ya,I do take the time to keep up on my appearence, becouse it makes me feel good!!!And I recently cut my very long hair to a short, angled bob, that curls under,so i have that very sleek, polished, smooth look, but with alot of volume, and I love it!I have never looked good in short hair, but this time, this cut is perfect on me,I get so many compliments, every day.I am thinking I am just gooing to ditch growing it long again, and just stick with this!!!The "Bob"is stylish, sleek and classy and will never go out of style,so why not??And by the way,the on the blonde thing, the only reason I take so long to do my hair is becouse I do have to blowdry it upside down, and backcomb it,spray hairspay and let it dry, than curl it,than brush it out and then smooth it all over, but thats the only way to get that really full-bodied and perfectly curled under look,so yeah,it is alot of effort and work, but I feel it is worth it.And on the whole debate about the blond thing again,I have seen brunette and redheads and woman of all different hair colors just as prissy as I am,and I have seen just as many blondes who dont take the time to fix themselves up,and slob around in thier sweats on a daily basis,so it has nothing to do with the color or the cut,it's the person!!!
