1. Use a pre-conditioner. La Coupe's Overnight Repair treatment will not only make sure that you have super-soft hair, but it will also dramatically minimize the amount of hair that you lose during or after washing.
2. Use a hydrating shampoo and conditioner. Joico's Moisture Recovery shampoo and conditioner is amazing. It leaves your hair clean but moisturized!
3. A tiny amount of leave-in conditioner will take you a long way - Ojon's Restorative Leave-In Treatment has a bit of colour that makes your hair sparkle.
4. Maintain healthy hair, skin, and nails by using a supplement made for that very purpose! femMED supplements are made just for women so they work with your own natural chemistry to ensure you stay healthy. You can get them at your local drugstore for less than $30.

Report AbuseAll good tips, but what you eat is also very important for healthy hair.
Things like salmon, dark green vegetables (spinach), nuts, eggs, beans, just to name a few are all good for your hair.

Report AbuseThese are great tips. I unfortunately have been suffering for atleast 2 years with an extremely dry scalp. It happened when I moved so I have a feeling it's the over chlorinated water here. No matter how I try and what I use it's always dry and flaky. Wearing black clothes is nearly a thing of the past. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I've tried nearly everything.

Report AbuseI saw dermatologist about my flaky hair. He told me that what we think is dry scalp is actually just the opposite. The glands in the scalp are over producing oils that build up and cause your scalp to flake and itch. Putting oil on the scalp makes it worst. I was prescribed a medicated shampoo that works wonders, but the doctor also said that I could use Head and Shoulders Shampoo but make sure it is the one that contains Zinc.

Report AbuseIf you have dry scalp, hair, or skin, try taking Omega 3 oil on a regular basis. I would take it twice daily. Studies have shown that it does increase hydration and anecdotal evidence says that it takes care of everything from hair loss to acne! I know that when I take it, I really do notice a difference.
