5 Ways to Winterize Your Summer Wardrobe

It's that time of year when even some of the most stylish women don't know what to wear—and most of us haven't yet made that annoying seasonal closet switch. Not to worry: we asked Allure's fashion director Michael Carl to make it easy—and teach us how to keep on rocking those summer favorites we just can't deal with stowing away:

  1. Mini dresses are new again with some thick black tights and a pair of platform ankle booties.
  2. A boyfriend blazer is the most versatile and comfy basic to pick up right now. Wear it over the aforementioned dress or just a tee—and you'll look polished for work or, with the sleeves nudged up and a great cuff, chic for evening.
  3. Our favorite tank or tee looks new again with a shearling vest layered over it (there are plenty of faux options this season, too). Just pair with skinny jeans and sky-high boots.
  4. Prepare a pair of rolled up shorts for the temperature dip by pairing them with some big ribbed, nubby tights. Black and charcoal work best.
  5. No sleeves? No Problem. Wear any flimsy dress or top from summer with a thin-knit, long cardigan in black, putty or charcoal grey.

Cardigans and Leggings are such a big help. I usually wear my summer dresses with those.

Anitra is right- shorts and tights are never right, unless, you're a trendy, young highschool/college student or you're just having some fun with your wardrobe at home. The rest of the ideas are great.
