Carrie's recession wardrobe
We've seen hints of real world issues on the show, but would the recession ever affect Carrie Bradshaw's closet to the extent that she (gasp!) wears an outfit twice? We thought we remembered this Dior newsprint dress, and sure enough SJP wore it in season 3's ''What Goes Around Comes Around'' episode.
Splash NewsAs huge fans of the "Sex and the City" series, we were a bit reluctant to see the movie, wondering how they would pull off a feature-film length follow-up. The movie was decent, and it made millions, but is a sequel really necessary? What more needs to be told? With all the "Golden Girls" comparisons, must we follow Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte until their geriatric years?
Here are just a few potential problems we see about the upcoming "SATC 2" movie.

Report Abuseok. I liked the show. I finally watched it after it had been off tv a whole year because i was curious what all the fuss was over. I liked the reunion movie. But enough is enough. These ladies are clearly getting up there in age. (and so am I for that matter) SJP is not aging well at all, Kim Catrall, (what is she, like 60 now?) is too old to be doing all the foolishness she is usually up to.
My point is, we love these ladies. At some point they reminded us of ourselves or someone we knew. But this movie feels wrong, forced somehow. Overkill. In our minds, we remember them as they were 7-8 years ago. Lets leave it at that.

Report AbuseOK, first of all, you don't know what they'll do with the film in post-production to iron out wrinkles and make them look like they would have in the 80s. Wait until you see the trailer (at least) before being too critical of that. I'm totally psyched for a flashback! I think the show skimped too much on character background. (And I really, really, hope the rumor that Bette Midler is making an appearance as the mysterious mother of Carrie!)
Second, I totally agree that they need to give it a rest with the "Big messes up again" story line. It's tired. Something needs to happen that they work through together without Big breaking Carrie's heart again. I think Big should have a long lost child he never mentioned to Carrie. Preferably a hot son in his 20s that Sam could seduce...
And thirdly, who cares if Sam gets married and wants babies? It would be such an interesting turn for her character to see her jump into real commitment and try something different. As long as she's still fun and fabulous while doing it and not stifled like she felt with Smith in the first movie, then I'd like to see her do something different (not someONE different, every two minutes).

Report Abuseyea, I can't wait to see this movie. Everyone always has something negative to say, perhaps everyone is just jealous because these women are "50 and fab" and making the big bucks!! I love them all. Stop hating people.

Report AbuseDidn't they say in the last movie that 40 was the last age that a woman could wear a wedding dress? Samantha is waaaaaaay past that. And age aside, it's not like her to get married. I hope something else is going on in that scene.

Report AbuseNever watch this stuff. Shouldn't they get younger actresses to play young parts? Makes sense to me............
