I was not blessed with much in the boob department, unfortunately, but I'm not about to go under the knife to change the situation. It seems way too extreme for my taste and I don't exactly have a modeling or porn career to justify the expense. And really, there's no need for surgery now that I've found these tricks.
True, none of them are going to take me from an A to a DD, but they will at least boost me up to a solid B, which I think I'll be quite happy with. If you're looking for some enhancement, check out these tips below:
Cleavage contouringWith a deft hand and the right tools you can give your cleavage the appearance of more depth and roundness. First, pick a bronzer with shimmer, says Chicago, Ill., makeup artist Zsofia Otvos. "It reflects light and creates the illusion that shapes are bigger and have depth," Otvos says. She likes Maybelline New York Expert Wear Stay True Bronzer, $4.39. Start with a dry surface -- body lotion or moisturizer will darken the powder and make it stick, Otvos says. Tap the brush to shake off excess bronzer, and look in a mirror (not down at your chest) as you apply it. Use a fan brush (try Benefit Fantail Brush, $22) to sweep bronzer along the "v" shape between your breasts, starting at the bottom of the "v," and working up. "The darkest spot should be at the point of the 'v,'" Otvos says. To create the low light, use a matte face powder (try Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder, $4.99) that's a shade darker than your skin. Apply it to the outside edge of the "v" at the curve around the breast with a fan brush. Voila! Brush-on boobage.
The Breast Workout
Yes, you can build up your breasts the old fashioned way -- with exercise. Michael George, fitness expert and author of "Body Express Makeover: Trim and Sculpt Your Body in Less than Six Weeks," recommends three exercises (two sets, 15 reps, three times per week) for your twins. "These moves work the upper pectoral muscles to keep the boobs lifted, hit the inner chest for cleavage effect and strengthen and tone to help keep the shape and structure of the boob area," George says.
Exercise 1: Pushups
Think: Demi Moore in G.I. Jane (no in-between claps necessary).
Exercise 2: Incline dumbbell chest presses
Lie flat on an incline bench with your feet on the floor. With your
arms at a 90-degree angle to your body, hold the weights at
shoulder level, parallel to the floor. Press the weights above your
head until the sides of the weights touch. Lower the weight to the
sides of the upper chest until you feel a slight stretch in your
chest or shoulders.
The pec deck is a machine you'll find at any gym. Holding your arms at 90-degree angles, slowly press your forearms together then slowly return to starting position. No gym membership? You can do dumbbell flyes instead. Lie on a bench, holding a dumbbell in each hand. Stretch your arms up toward the ceiling with elbows bent slightly. Open your arms out to each side (maintaining the elbow bend) and bring them back together, repeat.
Rodial Skincare's Boob Job, $150
The company claims that myrrh resin in this gel increases fat cells and fat storage in your breasts, and other ingredients (phytosterol derived from an Asian root, wheat protein and pomegranate ellagic tannin) firm, tone and increase collagen. It takes two applications, twice per day -- around mealtime … draw your own conclusions – to produce cup-increasing results in 56 days, according to the makers.
